New to faith and finally exploring it more seriously… I have questions

Hello everyone,

I’m new to faith and I’m wanting to fully delve deep into it but I don’t know how really. Or if there’s a right away or a better way. I’ve read some passages of the bible. Starting in John, I’ve gone to church here and there but I struggle to maintain that consistency. I pray daily and before bed (in my own way to god and Jesus). I just have so many questions.

Often times, it seems intimidating to me, especially the church scene and culture surrounding it. I like having faith in my own way, if that makes sense. I’m in my late 20’s, male (for more context). Going through a rough patch in my marriage and throughout this whole process I genuinely believe I’ve felt god and Jesus in my presence. There’s a level of comfort and peace that’s difficult to put into words.

I just know things will be okay even if they aren’t. So please give me feedback, advice, and in general conversations. I’m very open to how people have faith and explore that. And I’m wanting to learn more how others honor god and Jesus and follow them.

Thank you 🙏

Restarting My Physical Game Collection…

All CIB (minus Zelda… for now 👀)

Starting back with the Wii, relatively cheaper rn than other older consoles at the moment. Got some honorable mention games in there for the wife. And I had to get my favorite of all time N64 Ocarina of Time. Picked up Dante’s Inferno and True Crime as well for a really good price. Some nostalgia overload.

Can’t wait to get some more

Which console should I get next? Was leaning towards N64

HELP: Advice with overcoming obsessive negative thoughts about wife.

Hi, I’m in need of some advice and different perspectives. I’ve struggled with trust issues for years that have majorly impacted my marriage. Currently separated because of them. How can I overcome, improve or rewire my brain and thought patterns when it comes to my wife and in general?

I feel like no matter what I do my thoughts and assumptions automatically go to a dark negative place that my wife is cheating on me. I feel like my “gut feeling” instinct is so fried I can’t even trust it as a reliable source of information or my own judgment.

It’s exhausting feeling this way. It’s like an alarm system that is never turned off. I feel on guard 24/7 waiting for the other shoe to drop. I’ve tried therapy for almost 2 years, did help at that time. I watch plenty of videos online of various forms of advice. I’ve had plenty of conversations with my wife and “Ahhh Haaaa” moments that “clicked” with realizations after realizations only for them to seemingly not be enough.

I’ve changed and improved a great deal throughout the years but still it’s something I haven’t fully recovered from. I know I will someday but man does that someday seem so far away sometimes. I’m hyper aware of my own problems and thought patterns but I feel like I have no control over them. Sometimes I wish I could just switch my brain off.

And for quick context: My wife has never cheated on me before or in any of her past relationships before me. She does not have characteristics or traits of someone who would cheat and doesn’t strike me as one either. I have some thoughts and opinions about her at times with being naive and too nice. And for some things we disagree in values and ideals such as; I view going to bars/clubs as inappropriate when you’re married and she does not (to an extent), I think I believe in protecting the marriage a lot more than she does as well.

Is there anyone who struggled with this and overcame it? Man or woman. How do you cope? Any advice or thoughts?
