Over on r/Wales we’ve been discussing whether our First Minister should get an official residence The example of your guy having Bute House has been raised several times.

Do you think it’s valuable that the First Minister of Scotland has an official residence? Is it useful enough that, if Bute House wasn’t used for this purpose, it would be worthwhile setting a residence up? Is the role of First Minister sufficiently important enough to justify a grace and favour residence.

I’ve been finding our discussions on r/Wales surprisingly interesting (I came into it not supporting giving Rhun a house, but now I’m not so sure) so I’d love to get the perspective of a nation that does give its devolved leader a house.

Like lots of people who grew up in North Wales, in primary school I went on a residential trip to Glan Llyn near Bala. I distinctly remember being told a story of the ‘Llyn Tegid monster, Teggie’ and then we had to stick our heads in the lake and shout “TEGGIE” and all that good fun.

Is there an actual legend of a monster, or is it just a cheap knockoff of the Loch Ness monster? Did the staff at Glan Llyn just make it up. Are there any other examples of Cryptozoology in Wales?

Since moving to Cardiff to study at the University I have increasingly heard / read about the various antics of Neil McEvoy - leader of Propel, Cardiff City councillor, unsuccessful Senedd candidate, and former Plaid Cymru MS (and all round weirdo)

I’m not sure if it’s just me, but he seems really different from every other Plaid MS I’ve ever heard of. Maybe I’m just ignorant of what the party is like under the surface, but from my perspective he must have stuck out like a sore thumb.

How did he end up a Plaid Senedd candidate / member? What on earth drew him to the party?

Interim leader, though with only 9 members will there be anyone else who wants the job?

Genuinely, what is it?

I know it *is* more annoying, but I just can’t place why.
