A gorgeous specimen!

Trichocereus Peruvianus aka Peruvian Torch is a columnar cactus that gets a gorgeous frosted blue glaucous and can grow around 13 feet tall. It has beautiful white trumpet flowers and typically propagates when it gets too tall and breaks. The log roots and bingo bango, there’s a new stand. The seeds require ideal conditions, so broken limbs are more typical.

I have a tip that has been decorating my home. It’s very hungry, the roots are searching for water. It’s an OG specimen is called Hutchison 1597 from a Berkeley Botanical Garden. It was originally collected as a live clone by Paul C. Hutchison on October 10, 1957 above and east of town along road to Piura at elevation 2550 m (8350’). Huancabamba Province, Piura Department, Peru.
