As a long time lurker and occasional buyer, I’ll be selling some seedlings such as these soon and decided to initiate myself as a seller here with a Giveaway! Shipping is paid (US only), all I ask in return is maybe a kind word of feedback to the Tricho Overlord if you feel inclined.

THEN, if you have some obscure facts about any specific clone or cross - it’s lineage, growing habits, the circumstances of its creation or discovery, etc - add that to the comment and two other winners will be based off what I find most interesting or well researched, based on my own flawed metrics. The more obscure the better - maybe you have first hand knowledge that’s not online, or requires deep research, or there’s just a quirk you’ve observed about how something grows. I thought I could use this giveaway to learn some lore about trichocereus clones/varieties - and maybe this will give this post some value beyond the end date, as a bit of an informal archive of Trichocereus history. (Also, if two or more people pick the same number correctly, I’ll decide the winner based on their comments.)

Grown from seed, this was by far the notchiest plant in the whole lot. With bright blue skin, red spines and wonderful notches this is a true keeper.

This one is my pride and joy! A Tricho I can really call my own. Pictures 6-9 are just examples of growth.

"The mother that contained the seeds was huarazensis, the father is not confirmed but believed to be Chala or knuth as there was a large stand of it growing near the mother. It was bred by Big Chris and I in Caraz, a city in Peru. Specifically the Ancash region. The seeds were brought back to the states and with some selecting, the best of the bunch (cordillera) was isolated and grown out to the few stands I have today!"

This was one of the first closed pollinations I’ve ever done so this plant holds a real special place in my heart but it isn’t just special for those reasons. Between the notches, consistent seagulls shown between each areoles spacing and its parent’s region of origin this is a stellar clone.

This lovely tip would be nearly flawless but some damn tiny caterpillar 🐛 did a little damage. Purely cosmetic, still a very healthy cut that will grow out beautifully. For the ones that love the lore (like myself), here’s an excerpt from Andrea about the adventure to acquire this beast:

“In those years of growing trichocereus and being part of numerous communities Ive never seen a crested bridgesii. I didn't mean the tbmc, I mean a "regular" bridgesii but crested. I've seen a clone called Lucy, sold as it, but to me doesn't even REMEMBER a bridgesii. Then around 1.5 years ago I came across a picture of a plant that impressed me: a real bridgesii with crested parts! The crested parts may not represent the bridgesii character at their best, but the reverts doesn't lie. So I started an investigation to find out where I could find it and came out the plant was at about 4000km from me😂 I contacted the owner (someone completely outside the trichocereus world) and he said he can sell me a piece, but won't ship, I had to go to take it....so I bought tickets for 2 different planes, rented a car, booked an hotel and went to take my cut 😂 I've managed to take 2 cuts, one was a revert that started to crest again and one was a revert with a flower bud. Once I came back home I've been also able to pollinate it but in the end I lost the seeds somewhere😡 now they are growing since then in the ground in my greenhouse, doing good, keeping creating and doing funky stuff”

Rare and unique clone from the land down under 🇦🇺

Variegated, melty, funky, with drippy nippy areoles. Mature growth throws arms like a trident (see pic 7), hence the name. Last 4 pics are for example only and aren’t mine.

Graft comes on fully rooted PC, will ship bare root. 2 pups actively growing. One pup went full banana, but seems to be transitioning to green tissue in the new growth. Regardless, there’s 2 areoles on the banana pup that can be isolated with vari touching. Other pup has vari consistently going up an entire rib.
