Something that I have found very interesting with NP is how they have created ecosystems that link together various activities. It makes the world feel more "alive" and like a real world rather than a videogame. It is a bit of a gambit as there is the potential for lack of interest in certain activities to cause issues for others in the system reliant on those tasks being completed but management can adjust rewards to make the underperformed tasks more attractive (and they have shown they are paying attention and making quick adjustments.)

I'm not sure the full extent of the activities that have these sort of interactions but if you are aware of some that I haven't listed, please share them!

Farming & Trucking:

This is a recent change, but now when you grow wheat and sell it, rather than instantly getting paid, it gets placed in a trucking queue. Players that are doing the trucking jobs will pick up the wheat that has been grown and "sold" by other players and only after the trucker has completed the job does the farmer get paid (the money goes directly into their account.) Its possible that truckers were always delivering the wheat grown by players but the farmers were previously being paid at the time of sale rather than time of delivery.

GoPostal / Mail:

Mail actually gets delivered in the city by players doing Go Postal. The delivery drivers can actually open others mail and read it or abandon/destroy it and the mail is gone. Most of the mail I saw being delivered (and opened by the GoPostal workers) were traffic tickets. I'm not sure if any "goods" are being delivered by mail but it would be interesting if valuable packages start getting sent through the mail and possibly stolen.

G-6 & Atms:

Most know that players can rob ATMs, but once an ATM is robbed, it is not possible to be robbed again until G-6 workers repair and refill the ATMs.

LSBN News Magazines & Newspaper stands

To distribute the magazines created by LSBN (or any other group that might form), people have to do the paper delivery job and put the magazines in the news stands.

Some of these are more reliant on people "doing their job" on the other side of the ecosystem than others (I.e farming/trucking, G-6/atm robberies) with pay being withheld/ the activity not being available, I think they overall show the design principles behind NoPixel's systems. Interconnected systems meant to make the world feel more realistic.

This is a stark difference to Chase where every system is essentially self-contained and isolated from any other activites/systems. But I think it's obvious at this point that while Penti may call himself a game developer, he doesn't give any thought to how mechanics will operate on the server beyond his ability to use it for some lazy content.

So I have no idea what sort of "RP" was involved with him being hired by the BCSO, I just saw in the stream preview that Baxter was in a BCSO uniform.

Classic Penti rules for thee but not for Big P!

I feel bad for the people still playing and/or watching Chase. Having to experience shit tier RP perpetrated by the owner sucks. Some players have nowhere else to go but I don't understand why viewers would still be watching this Slop when there's so much great RP happening on NP V.

A poodle with the collar "property of John W." bit Rob outside of Burgershot. They killed the dog and turned it into a hotdog. John W learned they had his dog (but not its fate) and kidnapped Tig. The Burgershot crew also stole John's car and blew it up. The clip is the meetup where they were suppose to exchange the dog for Tig.

The aftermath:

Ken Sama's timing and delivery of that line is so fucking funny.

I saw in my feed that a community meeting was happening so I decided to check it out. The topic of Civ RP was brought up and Penti announced the server's plans to entice more Civ RP. The answer?

New Casino and new pets for Pet Battles and Construction job rework #82. I don't know how things/activities that can be done by anyone whether they are Civs, Crims or Cops will somehow entice more Civ RPers, but there you have it folks, Civ RP on Chase is saved!

I would say that it's crazy how much Civs are neglected on Chase but really, there isn't any "faction" that has all that much to do and they kind of all feel neglected in their own ways. But Civs in particular seem really downbad on Chase.

Anyway, I'm only like 10mins into the meeting so if there's any other funny shit I'll share.

I swear that back in the day when viewing clips there used to be a button to view the source stream at the point where the clip occurred. But I can't seem to see any sort of button like that anywhere. So is there anyway to go from a clip to the full vod at the point the clip happened? This is mainly from a mobile experience. If there's a method that exists on the computer version I guess I can do that but a lot of my clip viewing tends to be via mobile these days.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I haven't really been checking out Penti, I heard he did a ToS2 night full of nobodies and he rage quit based on an r/RPClipsPurple post.

The one day I checked out myself, I saw him playing a character that was basically God mode with a machine gun and would only stop his mayhem if someone threw a hotdog into his mouth. I stopped watching basically after hearing the premise but someone was chatting with me giving some updates. The first time he was captured by police he used admin commands to escape custody because Penti only takes L's when "it's the right time." The person that told me about it stopped watching it after that so I don't know how it ended.

Did anything even remotely interesting happen on other days? Has NP V's launch had any noticeable impact on the server/viewership? I know there weren't many people on Chase with invites so I wouldn't imagine it would have impacted the active playerbase all that much.

Hello all, I was hoping that people could take a little time and give a little info about the characters they have been watching and what they are getting into, what sort of arcs are starting to develop and other characters they tend to interact with....

**Sentry on Ron Otterman:** He is on a mission to create a news media empire. He has been exploring and learning all of the news mechanics and been sharing what he has learned with others and has been recruiting people to work for him as photographers, journalists and delivery people.

I could be wrong but I think he is the only person currently with the whitelist to create magazines aside from Koil. He is planning on releasing 2 magazines a week with eventual hopes to increase it to possibly one a day if he can get enough quality articles. He has interacted a lot of different people across the city in trying to establish his empire and has been giving out a lot of his personal money to people that have done tasks for him.

I didn't catch all of it but I think after Jean Paul (XQC) got upset with being depicted in photos of atm robberies he made a deal with Ron for some favorable coverage in the news and told Ron he would give him advance notice of photo worthy shootouts etc.

While a civ, Ron is willing to get a little dirty and sell potentially incriminating photos back to the perpetrators rather than selling them to police/publishing them.

** Associated Characters: ** Nancy (Appleshampoo) is a journalist. I think Lando is his main delivery guy.

** Roflgator on Rob S ** (not going to try the last name), the polish immigrant manager of Burgershot. He's been establishing the restaurant as an RP hub while accumulating as many girlfriends as possible. The father of Roxy (Jennybeartv) and someone that gets exploited by all of the women in his life for his money. He is about making money and women and will serve the cheapest meat available in his food, even if it gets the patrons sick.

** Associated Characters: ** Ken Sama (Pengwin) BS worker, Dee Mented (Charli) BS worker, Kitten (???) his exploitive GF (and presented as his wife to Roxy), Roxy (Jennybeartv) his daughter.

I'd say I've spent 60% of my viewing time watching sentry, 20% watching Roflgator and 20% on others. I've watched some Kyle on Slim, Mekabear on Goldie, Harry on Harry, Squeex on Vivek and some others but I didn't see enough to do them justice with descriptions.

I'd like to watch some others in the coming week so hopefully you all can share what others have been getting up to so I can decide who to watch next!

edit: tried to make better formatting but failed

What does everyone think about what they've seen so far and the server in general? Who have you been watching?

I've been loving it, the biggest problem I've had is deciding who to watch. There's so many different people that I want to watch!

I watched a bit of Squeex who I never watched before but had seem his character around a good amount in the beginning of 4.0. He was pretty damn funny and I can't wait for Day Tuah of the mayor's term.

Aside from Squeex, I've been mainly watching Sentry playing his reporter, Ron Otterman. The character seems pretty good and I can't wait to see his media empire take off.

Between watching them I hopped between a few other perspectives but I didn't watch long enough to say anything of note. I've typically been someone that sticks to one streamer but I feel like I'm going to have a hard time during 5.0 with there being so many good RPers that seem really excited and locked in.

I think tomorrow I might try to watch one of the DMs.

Are you all planning on sticking to one / a small group of streamers or are you going to be "flipping channels" and watching a bunch of streamers?

Please post stuff that you've seen going on / people in places of power/authority.

Mayor: Squeex is back as Vivek Ramasquamy and is mayor, get ready for big moves on Day Tuah!

Commissioner of PD: Charles Dawson played by Saab, maybe 5th time is a charm.

Head Doctor: Philippa Canter as played by Mollyruu

Chief EMS: Veronica Mars-Simone played by Kate.

DMs: Burn, UHN. Kiva?

Haven't heard about what Burn has been up to so if you know please share. I guess UHN has been playing a character that is an associate trained by Siz and supposedly Siz will be making an appearance down the road.

Business Owners:

G6: Managed by NMPlol (I think his character is Jason Pollam?)

Gangs/Organized crime: ????

Characters of Note: ???

Cool Mechanics: ???

Anyone know if Nidas/4head were around and what they were up to?

Please feel free to add info in your replies and I will edit the post and add info. There's obviously way too many characters and content for one person to digest so hopefully of we get some info together people can get an idea of what's going on and who they might be interested in watching.

I know a lot of people are excited for the NP launch. There are going to be a lot of streamers checking it out and hopefully a lot of great stories have their beginning. Since there are far too many streams for anyone to watch (not even accounting for RL responsibilities like work); I ask that if you are watching an entertaining stream, please take the time and effort to clip and post to the subreddit.

Also, so that this subreddit doesn't turn into a place with just a bunch of spammed clips and no discussion, let's please keep to what makes this subreddit so great, the discussion. Rather than simply posting a clip, please include a little context to go along with the clip. Obviously if something is just a short, self-contained funny moment that needs no explanation, then you can skip the context. But anything beyond that, please give some information to accompany the clip.

Aside from clips, if you happen to watch a stream in its entirety, you are encouraged to give a summary of what happened in the stream. Hopefully after like a week, it will be clear what interesting stories are developing and people can choose what interests them.

I don't know if it's worth having a "megathread" or anything but if you have input on what we can do to keep information accessible and organized, please feel free to share your thoughts!

Unfortunately a lot of my favorite NP streamers are EU hours and I won't be able to watch due to work, so hopefully they get some clips/summaries posted. If anyone has any advice for good streamers to watch during NA evening hours (4pm pst to 12am pst), please let me know!

Edit: The server is scheduled to launch at 12pm est. Thanks u/JesusPuffinAStogie for the info.

After like over an hour of wandering around without coming across anyone, he finally found a group of people. The interaction goes on for like 10mins. Absolutely riveting RP from the RP god.

Bonus points for using his new favorite joke where he says he performed an abortion on his girlfriend because he wanted to be a doctor even though she didn't want the abortion. I don't know if he just doesn't enjoy rp anymore or if he is just out of ideas for characters. He wasn't always this bad, right? I could have sworn I remember him being funny in the past.

Thread to discuss the Banathon Day 4, ya know what I mean?

Timestamp URL in case link has issues: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2866044242?t=2h56m39s

Osvaldo was giving a tour of the asylum to some people that I think normally play on NP and was having a "veiled" ooc convo ic with them. One of them mentioned not getting a response from 911 and Osvaldo said cop numbers were down because they were "fatigued from a war no one wanted anything to do with, kind of how the faceless shoehorn themselves into everything."

Thread for discussing day 3 of the Cryathon.

This thread is for random chatter about day 2 of Penti's subathon. If there is interest then maybe they continue. If it sucks, we can scrap it. The idea is so you can talk about random shit that is happening / give non-watchers a recap for stuff that isn't otherwise worth their own thread.

If something really major happens that will probably be discussed for multiple days, feel free to create a new thread for that topic.

Anyway, I made the title what it is because it seems like Penti is realizing that NP, ONX and Prodigy actually have relationships with Rockstar and they are getting the inside track on things while Penti and Chase are do not "have a seat at the table."

Since Penti's last subathon a lot of things have changed. He is now the owner of ChaseRP and he recently took a very controversial Rumble deal. While Chase has had a more direct impact on his content, the Rumble deal has probably been the most controversial decision in his community.

I think the many issues with Rumble itself as a platform has been covered numerous times on this subreddit so I'm not going to go over all of them. But needless to say, the views that Penti claims to support and champion to his community are basically antithetical to Rumble. At best, it means Penti cares more about a paycheck than his proclaimed morals and at worst it means he never really held those values to begin with and he wss simply virtue signaling to his community in order to increase his support from those groups and the amount of donations he could receive from them.

Additionally, since playing on Chase he has done a bunch of things in RP that he said he wouldn't do prior to it launching and that he claimed to be against when on other servers. He has made his characters the center of attention and when others were getting the spotlight, he would often ty to regain the spotlight by tearing down the RP of others.

So I think this subathon will be a referendum on the Chase-Rumble Era of Penti. Either his community doesn't care that he has been extremely hypocritical in numerous ways and they will gift subs like those things don't matter or the gift subs won't come in like they have previously, showing that some members of his community are not happy with the hypocrisy and they are "voting with their wallet."

I can personally see it going either way. There have been a lot of people voicing their displeasure with both his content and the Rumble deal and for everyone that posts a comment there are many others that feel the same way but don't post. While Penti says he is planning for a 40 day subathon, we all know there will likely be extra "free time" tacked on if it's needed to keep it going. So as Penti says, the only thing that matters is the number at the top left of the screen. I hope people stick to their convictions and don't reward someone that would happily align themselves with a platform that goes against so much of what they claim to support. I guess we will see what that number looks like in a month.

When I posted about the DMs, I expected Penti supporters to think the leaker had been lying but I didn't really expect people to think I made up the story entirely. Anyway, after careful consideration of who I felt could be trusted to protect the identity of the leaker and other details as well as being someone that a wider audience would believe the word of, I decided to share the DMs with Casbri_.

I believe Casbri_ is a very reasonable and thoughtful person despite the fact that I often disagree with their takes. At many times have supported Penti and Chase in this subreddit which I think would give their word more credibility among those who are not considered "snarkers."

I haven't asked them to judge whether they think the words of the leaker are true or not (although they are free to state their opinion on that.) However, I have asked them to confirm the following details:

1. The dms in fact, do exist.
2. The leaker claimed that both a developer and editor were not paid for multiple months of their work.
3. They claimed to have reached out and not received any response for Penti for months.
4. They were reported to have been paid after the post on RPClips was created.

Casbri should be responding when they see this post in the next 30mins to an hour.

Apparently during Penti's viewing of the GTA 6 trailer, the topic of subcount inflation got brought up. Penti scoffed at the accusation and said he could prove it wrong by bringing up his stream dashboard. So he brings up his dashboard and the dashboard was not loading any numbers. I guess Twitch was having issues due to all of the people watching the GTA 6 trailer. What a coincidence!

Will he disprove the allegations the next time he streams or will it be forgotten?
