Better shape with peloton vs lifting in gym

Has anyone done both consistently for a period of time and when did you feel like you were in better shape and stronger.

I am 27F and I have been lifting in the gym for a couple of years, some points in time I’ve had great consistency and diet but never have looked as great and be in as good of shape as when I did peloton for 2 years straight.

Granted I was 21-23. I worked out 5 days a week, their strength classes 3-4 days a week and cycle 3 days a week.

I feel like I got caught up in the trend that you have to lift HEAVY and that peloton strength is “bad” or looked down on.

Has anyone else has a similar experience? I can’t tell if I’m making this up in my head or not.

Update*

Thank you all, it’s really helpful to hear feedback and perspective. I am consistent in the gym but definitely don’t push myself hard or I avoid certain muscle groups like quads or chest. I do really like the gym and lifting, but there’s something fun about peloton strength and cycle and it also help that I can accomplish more in a shorter time… unfortunately I have a 5 day in office job so 45 minutes or less is great. I think I am going to try to keep 1 heavy weights day for my lower body and glutes and use peloton strength for my other days.

In terms of goals I want to lean out a bit and increase my cardio, I am getting married in a year and want to feel and look great. But I also would love to get back into sports, racing and other activities that I think the Peleton class structures will help with.

Thank you all!
