Everything is so confusing

So I took your guys’ advice and decided not to buy the LMNT packets. Instead, I’m planning to supplement with Lite Salt, regular salt, and magnesium glycinate.

From everything I’ve read, a common electrolyte target for an extended water fast is roughly:

Sodium: 3,000–5,000 mg/day
Potassium: 2,000–3,000 mg/day
Magnesium: 300–400 mg/day

Since Lite Salt contains both sodium and potassium, I have to combine it with regular salt to get enough sodium without taking way too much potassium.

My only concern is… that’s a lot of salt. It ends up being around 2–3 teaspoons of salt a day. I’ll do it if that’s what’s actually needed, but is that really healthy, or am I overdoing it?

Supplement intake

I’ve read that the recommended supplement intake for an extended water fast is:

Sodium: ~5,000 mg
Potassium: ~1,000–2,000 mg
Magnesium: ~300–400 mg

So this packet is nowhere near enough to meet those amounts. Should I buy these supplements separately to meet the recommended intake? Do you guys have any recommendations for sodium, potassium, and magnesium?

I failed. Big time.

I feel embarrassed to even share this, but I was 300 pounds and did carnivore for 10 months. I ended up losing 100 pounds. At some point I convinced myself I could go back to eating normally, and here I am at 300 pounds again.

I’m extremely disappointed in myself, but all I can do now is move forward. I plan on getting back on carnivore, but the one thing that worries me is how I felt the first time around.

During the first 3-4 months, I felt terrible. The worst part was the constant sharp chest pains. Around month 4 everything seemed to improve and I started feeling much better, but I honestly don’t know why because I was still doing the same things. I was eating the same amount of fat, following a strict carnivore diet, and I thought I was staying on top of my electrolytes.

As I prepare to start again, does anyone have any advice? Especially on how to avoid feeling like I’m dying during those first few months. I’m determined to do it regardless, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you! Love this community.
