Raccoons

I live in Bremerton and I’ve discovered the local raccoon population appears to prefer to crap in my yard and it’s becoming a problem.

Anyone else run into this? Any suggestions?

VCF 9.1 upgrade, is it ready for production?

VCF 9.1? I’m currently on 9.0.1, should I upgrade or hold off?

EDIT: the community consensus seems to be a thunderous “no” 😂

VCF Automation and Ansible Automation Platform (RANT)

Recently found out that after upgrading to VCF Automation 9.0.1, the integration with Ansible Tower/AAP is STILL Broken!

When our organization upgrade Ansible Automation Platform to 2.5, it broke our integration. No problem, VMware posted a KB about it (see below) which states "hey submit a feature request"

Why wouldnt vmware just continue supporting a feature/service baked into its own product? couldnt say....

Feature request submitted....for all the good its done....it looks to be ignored and abandoned.

yet their documentation has a full walkthrough of how to integrate it, no mention of the fact that it only support AAP 2.4 and LOWER. For those who arent tracking AAP is now on version 2.6.

I ran into an article that says "just down grade AAP to a support version...." and i think i had a minor brain bleed.

VMware you cant say your a "next generation" or "modernized" platform if you cant support industry standard services that, frankly, do it better.

/rant

edit: yes i know we can use REST API calls (who cares....)

VCF VKS thoughts/review

VMware/broadcom has really been pushing VKS and I’m curious if anyone has implemented it and what there thoughts are. Specifically, how difficult is it to install, maintain, and deploy production level workloads to.

Does it keep things simple, deliver value, etc?

I’d prefer a technical discussion, BUT if you feel you need to rant…..feel free.

VCF 9.1 and VCF Management Services requires up to 30 IPv4 addresses?

Seeking clarification. We are currently running a VCF 9.0.1 environment. During the planning phase, while completing the initial deployment workbook, we identified a need for /26 CIDR. We handily filled that subnet in with VCF components. Life’s been grand.

I’m reading that in VCF 9.1 there is a new “VCF Management Service” appliance which requires between 12-30 continuous ip addresses?

Is that unused IP addresses on the management domain subnet? As in we’re not reusing any ip addresses?

If that is the case, and I need to migrate to a /24 (for example) is there a Broadcom approved method for that?

This puffball showed up at my house this morning and just sort of made itself at home. No collar, but friendly, clean, and sociable.

If you are or know the owners please DM me. If no response I’ll drop him/her off at the Kitsap Humane Society Today/tomorrow
