The Goat? Why does nobody talk about this guy

The vacuum guy, he's very smart to run such a big ahh cross country business to disappear and I haven't seen people talk about him much. Does anyone know any guy who does something like him? (educational purpose)

They Senior Developers need a new department of Devs that exclusively work on game optimization.

I'm a developer myself, and I understand optimisation. I also know the SCR devs obviously understand their own code and systems far better than I do.

That said, I think SCR has reached a point where optimisation deserves its own dedicated development team.

The network keeps getting larger, and with that comes more tracks, scenery, scripts, trains, systems running simultaneously. It seems like technical limitations are increasingly affecting how the network can be expanded, with existing routes and infrastructure sometimes needing to be reworked. Like we just saw Water Newtown to Esterfield in 2.4

The important part is that this wouldn't be about telling the current devs they don't know how to optimise. They obviously do.

When a project gets this large, and that the map is really spread out, and not like British Railway where the map is compact. We often do experience lag during updates, the latest example being the release of 2.4. Yes, the developers are capable of solving this issue and they did.

That's the main reason we don't see any expansion (from any branch like SV, SC, LLYN, NWY, RB, WFD, CON or Whitefield Lido) because the game would break due to lack of optimisation. And they game just reuse the routes, tracks and infrastructure and make us feel that it is new.

Tickets! Redesign pt.2

We have airlink shuttle from HHG to SAX this time.

I made 2 versions which have diff dimensions.

One is the original dimensions of the British tickets

but its compact.

So I used a larger version, so I got more space to fit in stuff.

But I got some space left, so I added 2 route maps.

One Question

You get ONE question to an all-knowing machine. What do you ask?

Imagine a machine appears in front of you.

It can answer one question about the future with absolute accuracy.

You get ONE attempt.

Once you ask your question, the machine gives you the answer, and you can never ask another question.

The rules:

  1. You can ask only ONE question.

  2. Your question must contain exactly ONE independently answerable proposition.

    - “Will I get married?” = valid.

    - “Will I get married, and who will I marry?” = invalid. That's two questions.

  3. The machine interprets your question literally.

  4. Loopholes are allowed and encouraged. You can exploit wording, logic, probability, definitions, mathematical concepts, self-reference, etc.

  5. The machine cannot lie, mislead, or intentionally omit information necessary to answer your proposition completely.

  6. The answer is 100% guaranteed to be true.

  7. Your future must remain consistent with the answer. The answer cannot later become false.

  8. You still have free will. You can make whatever decisions you want after receiving the answer, but your decisions cannot make the machine's answer false.

  9. The machine cannot grant wishes, alter reality, read your mind, or give you information unrelated to your question.

  10. Every rule applies simultaneously. No rule overrides, contradicts, or obstructs another. If a proposed question cannot satisfy all the rules, it simply isn't a valid question.

  11. You cannot submit another question through someone else, disguise multiple questions as one, or ask the machine to choose a question for you.

  12. There are no restrictions on the subject matter of your question, as long as it is one valid proposition.

You could ask about your own future, another person's future, humanity, money, science, civilization, death, technology, or literally anything else.

The machine doesn't care about your intentions.

It only cares about the exact proposition you asked.

What is the single question you ask?

And don't just give the question. Explain why you think it's the optimal question.

Tickets! Redesign

Hi guys! I'm sentruss and I love to design stuff, so I like playing scr a lot and I was reading this reddit when I found userrandomguy's post of his/her design of tickets, and I absolutely loved it. So I thought maybe I should also make one.

DESCRIPTION OF THE TICKET.

So basically I tried to make it very close to the actual ticket used in British Railway irl. I don't live in the uk so idk about the current design, but I used a 2014 design for reference.

This is a ticket for Stepford Express a fast intercity operator in scr.

I used 'computer says no' font to give that computer generated feel to it.

I used cream white (#F3E6C8) for the small text in between

I used dark purple (#1F1B36) for the upper box and lower box shown in the picture.

I used transport for Stepford logo in the bottom left, and the express logo for the top right.

Ticket info:

This is a single ticket that means it can be used by a single person.

Class here is first class, means the person is traveling in first class. He's rich.

Ticket type is one way, means once the traveling is done the ticket cannot be used.

As there's a single person he's an adult in this case for, adult 1 and there's no child so nil for child.

Today is 8th of September so the date is written 08•09•26 and is valid upto 10th.

The person is travelling from Stepford Central (SC) to Llyn by the sea (Lyn) via benton fast. I used an actual route for this.

This is route R078 served by express trains as stated.

The train number is 390151. which is 390/1 pendolino 11 car.

then I added route to it. which I love the most, it shows the map and halts that comes between their journey, and the halts are only shown. and details below like time 21 mins, Distance 20m/33km (real time and distance it takes to complete the route in scr)

then in the lower box. It's written refundable and exchange for a fee which I saw in many references.

then the logo I mentioned.

the price: £79.50 (advance) means the payment was done before, idk the meaning of X that was shown but I still added. (i think it's a reasonable price for a first class for a fast, comfortable and 20m long journey)

Then the coach number, I paid attention to detail that when you spawn at a depot, the first class is in the 3 coach in 390/1 or most trains. and when you reach a terminal and you turn back the first classes coach become the rear coaches, as pendolino has 11 coaches, the last coach is first class. So the person's ticket shows the coach 11 as he's travelling first class, seat 22 forward facing means the direction the train is traveling.

Printed: 12:00 time and 080926 means 8th of September 2026.

and a qr code for scanning (it is an example code for reference)

One more attention to detail, that in the centre white box is some cream coloured text written in the real tickets they are written 'BRITISH RAILWAY' so in my case it's 'STEPFORD EXPRESS' not a big feature but a small detail.

THINGS I COULD'VE ADD:

firstly I must've added the train headcode that I decided on 9L61, but I forgot to add it in the final draft.

then in the background i wanted to add colourless less opacity express logos but I thought it was too much.

then in the payment section I added a discount card: nil section but it wasn't that relevant with the design so I had to remove it. I can add it again.

PURPOSE

tbh it has no purpose lol. It's just a decorative, well detailed piece that could be added, not very noticeable but still makes the game look polished and that they pay attention to detail. I made this for my own practice for my designs as well.

CONS

i personally think that all this is very packed, cluttered and complicated and shouldn't be much complicated like the route map, coach and seat details etc.

Then as much as I've noticed they've used Orange Colour for basically every tickets disregarding the region or lines. But I added my own thought of keeping the primary colours of each operator (just my touch, it's not necessary)

I need y'all opinion of what can I add, what can I remove or some big change, every opinion is appreciated. If y'all want I can definitely make more, it wasn't a long process (took me 1-2 hours due to the research) but I enjoyed the process. So please give me suggestions on how it can be improved, and did u liked it or not! thanks!!
