Make no mistake…the new update was a monetization move. Kefir = Greed.

This update, especially the Lab rework, was a monetization move, no doubt. When I could, I paid for the season pass and had about 800 gold coins. In about a week I’ve spent 175 of them. I will be nearly out by the end of this new event and will either have to struggle through the Lab without my chosen perks, stop doing the Lab, or pay for more season passes, which I can’t afford on zero income (disabled, fighting for assistance). Did it get easier? Well if it did, it’s because of Kefir’s insatiable greed. “Get the player to spend more coins and buy more season passes.” Don’t ever think that these people are doing anything for the player. “Improvements” and “upgrades” and “updates” are all greed driven with this company.

Ghillie Armor After the Update

It’s basically useless now and I have more than a locker full. I would start recycling it, but that’s what I did with all of my Hazmat Suits from the Port Lab, and now we need them for the Boggy Region. FML.

No More Ad Revive for “Experienced Survivors,” as Per Dev Support

Since the 1.51.1 update I noticed that I can no longer use an ad to revive with all of my gear once per day. So, I contacted support about this new “bug,” and this is how they responded:

“After the 1.51.1 update, the option to restore items after the death of your character by viewing ads was disabled for experienced survivors. I am sure you will be able to handle any enemy! Make sure you have enough weapons, armour, food and first aid kits.”

So, Kefir, what qualifies a person as “experienced” enough to warrant this amazing nerf? I have enough of almost everything to not worry if I lose a backpack full, including the backpack, but why do this other than to be jerkdevs? Who puts these jerk ideas into your heads?

The rest of the update is pretty great, except for having to use three different kinds of gear at the Lab, and except for inflating resource requirements for recipes, thereby devaluing them. But they just can’t help doing at least one jerk move per update, and this is the one. Even experienced players make mistakes and have connection issues, which can cause our character to die. I watch partners and other streamers have these issues as well as myself. And, being an “experienced player” shouldn’t be a punishment; it should be rewarded. We’ve put up with your nonsense for longer than the rest!

Will they fix the leaky chemistry station with the new upgrades coming with the new update, or…?

First, I need to understand how my man is smart enough to assemble a chopper that doesn’t leak fuel, and an ATV that doesn’t leak fuel, but he can’t build the chemistry station so that it doesn’t leak fuel? It’s more jerkdev stuff that doesn’t make sense except to be jerks. Stop being jerks and I’ll stop calling you jerkdevs. 🤣

FFS get rid of the stupid “ kill the _______” raider’s tasks already.

When we login for an hour or two, we don’t want to spend the whole time looking for one stupid zombie to satisfy one stupid task. Now that there will be nine daily tasks plus everything else you give us to do, can you just get rid of this crap already? FFS!

Are they Jerkdevs, Dumbdevs, or both?

So they expand our base but not enough to fit the new ATV garage for those of us with a full perimeter base. Is that a jerk move, is that a dumb move, or both?

And now the game begins in a landfill…

I feel bad for new players and I would never start over or start a new character. Look at all of the trash that has to be cleared from the starting base map.

It’s a fitting adjustment, though. Trash game begins and ends with you buried in trash in your base.

*gives Kefir a standing ovation.

Bankrupt and Repossessed

I grossed $83,000 in 2024 between Uber and Lyft (XL). They took $43,000 in fees, leaving me with $40,000. I Had $26,000 in my own operational costs, leaving me with $14,000. After other deductions, my 2024 AGI was between $9,000 and $10,000. I ran up $50,000 in credit card debt and had to file for bankruptcy. I was driving 60 hours per week, with Fibromyalgia and a progressive spinal cord injury, and worked myself into disability. The car got repossessed and now my church is 100% completely supporting me, financially, while I wait for the disability process to play out.

Driving ride share is, without a doubt, the worst thing I have ever done for work. It's a scam. No one should have to work 60 hours per week and come out with less than $10,000 in gross annual income. ALL gig work is a scam. Its how companies skirt over paying for benefits. Other industries are adopting the gig work model for the same reason: to exploit workers. No benefits. No full-time work. No cap on competition. And with Uber and Lyft, no fair split on the fares. We absorb 100% of the costs, other than the bulk insurance policies they provide, and advertising. The vehicles are the real cost.
