Anyone going to UofGH?

Hi, everyone. I’m a new graduate from SJO and I’m going to University of Guelph-Humber this september. Just wondering if anyone else is going to the university of guelph-humber? I know it’s a niche school but it’d be nice to know if anyone else is going there too. Also, if anyone IS going there, are you in residence or will you be commuting since I know GH is largely a commuter school.

BA Psych Graduates

I’m a first year and I do have the option of specializing my psychology degree into Business or Data analytics, and I do want to go into corporate but I’m not super set on it. I’m also considering continuing to my masters in psychotherapy. Either that or an MBA which I would have guaranteed acceptance in for UofG because i’m in UofGH ( branch school of University of Guelph).

Psychology graduates who did Bachelor of Arts, what are you guys doing with your bachelor? Did you go to Grad school to start practicing? Or did you do something completely different? Specifically for graduates working in corporate, how did you do it? Do you have a masters or PhD? How much are you making currently or what is your projected earnings in a few years?

Since I’ve never really given it a try I don’t know how I feel about being a therapist. And I know business and corporate is a highly saturated market with a lot of networking or nepotism (and since I’m studying at a relatively niche school without a huge reputation I don’t know how well I’ll make it upon graduation), so I’m hesitant to enter it at all.

I just want to know what other graduates are up to. And if anyone is a graduate of psych from Guelph-Humber, please let me know how you’re doing.

OSAP Funding And Financial Aid

I haven’t received my OSAP funding yet but in the situation that it’s not enough (and if most likely won’t be because the initial estimate isn’t either) to pay for school what could I do. I’m struggling to find another job right now and I do have a part time job with not a lot of hours, so I’m not making a lot of money. My parents can’t support me because they don’t make much and their bills are super high. How could my University’s financial aid office help me?

I’ve asked them what the options were and they said to wait until they get the actual estimate. In which I would have to pay whatever remaining cost by myself in 10 days before the already extended deadline (which was extended because I said I would be using OSAP to pay costs). Which I, for sure, can’t do.

I don’t know what the Financial Aid office can do, if there will be grants or scholarships they could give me in this event, but I’m starting to fear that not going to school at all is on the table for me.

For people who have been in my position, how has the financial aid office helped you?
