Nefedipine- higher heart rate when woke from bed

Hi, I’m 7 days postpartum and currently taking nifedipine 30 mg twice a day for postpartum hypertension.
My BP is actually well controlled — my recent readings have been 117/79, 123/83, 111/78, and 125/85. However, I’m having a really difficult side effect with my heart rate. Almost every morning when I wake up, my HR jumps to around 125–130 just from sitting up in bed, and yesterday it reached 150–160 when I stood up.
During the rest of the day, my heart rate is much more controlled, and my resting HR can be around 60–70.
Has anyone experienced this with nifedipine postpartum? If so, what helped, how long did it take for the heart rate to settle, and did your doctor switch you to another BP medication or reduce/stop nifedipine?
I’m planning to discuss this with my OB, but I’d really appreciate hearing about other people’s experiences. My BP is controlled, but the heart-rate spikes are becoming very stressful.

Nefedipine- high heart rate

I’m 7 days postpartum and currently taking nifedipine for postpartum high blood pressure.
This morning, after waking up and getting out of bed, my heart rate suddenly went quite high around 150-160 I ended up getting evaluated, and they did an EKG and chest imaging, which were normal. They also found that I have a UTI, and the doctors thought dehydration may have contributed to the high heart rate.
They decreased my nifedipine from 120 mg/day to 30 mg twice a day (60 mg/day).
For those who had postpartum hypertension and were taking nifedipine:
Did you experience an increased heart rate while taking it?
How long did it take for your heart rate to settle down?
How long did you need to stay on nifedipine postpartum?
What BP readings did your doctor want to see before reducing or stopping it?
Did your doctor gradually decrease the dose?
Did your BP eventually return to normal without medication?
I’m trying to understand what the usual timeline looks like because I’m only 7 days postpartum and hoping this is temporary.
I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences. ❤️

Title: Sleeping heart rate dropped from ~77 to 56 postpartum — should I be concerned?

My sleeping/resting heart rate used to be around 77 bpm, but since giving birth it has dropped to around 56 bpm while I’m sleeping. When I’m awake, it’s usually around 65–75 bpm.
I’m wondering if this kind of drop is normal postpartum or something I should be concerned about. I’m using an Oura Ring to track it, so I’m also wondering how reliable the sleeping heart-rate readings are.
Has anyone else experienced a similar change in heart rate after delivery? Will it fix by its own ?

Anyone with Vestibular Migraine and dizziness Have a Normal Vaginal Delivery?

Has anyone had vestibular migraine before pregnancy with symptoms like dizziness, ear pressure, brain fog, anxiety, and feeling detached/not fully present (derealization), and then gone on to have a normal vaginal delivery?
I’ve had these symptoms since before I became pregnant, and now that I’m getting closer to labor, I’m feeling anxious. I’d really appreciate hearing your experience. How did you manage during labor? Did your symptoms get worse? Any tips or positive stories would mean a lot.
Thank you!
