Help Funding Education

My boyfriend and I are currently in college, majoring in computer science and psychology. We hope to finish our degrees in the next couple of years, however finances are a huge barrier. There are some weeks we can barely afford food as we pay for both rent and tuition. Provided are username verification, a picture of us, and proof of enrollment for both of us. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated!

Help getting started?

I’ve had an account for a while, but haven’t had much traction. I was wondering if there are any tips and tricks to getting those first bookings?
Any advice is appreciated!

Gothic themed shoes!

These are the newest addition to my shop, thought it would be fun to do something a little spooky. I’m very happy with how they turned out!

I just opened this shop August of last year but have not gotten around to working on it much until now. So any advice is welcome! I have not received a sale yet.

  1. What inspired you to create this shop?
I have wanted to start a shop for a long time, because I love being able to share my hobbies with others! I want to provide that one niche product that someone loves. Since I’m also in college, any extra source of income helps as well.

  2. What research have you done prior to starting this shop?
I mainly looked at this subreddit/Etsys own guides, as well as specific advice for the niches I’m targeting. I also checked out what similar shops are selling and what prices they offer.

My main questions:

  1. How to overall increase traction- I know it takes time but it feels like I keep investing in products and end up losing money in the end. So what can I do to help that first buyer to order?

  2. Creating a cohesive “feel”, I want to have different types of products, but also want to have them all to feel like they’re from a specific brand/shop. I wanted to know ways of creating this feel for buyers?

  3. I’m not sure if my titles and descriptions are pulling people in like they should-any ways to improve them?

  4. I know my logo looks very homemade. I was wondering if there are popular logo creating tools or software that help to make more professional logo designs?
