OHIP virtual appointment outside of the province
I have a consult appointment for an OHIP covered surgery coming up and it's virtual. I'm temporarily staying outside the province and I didn't know when the appointment got booked that I'm required to physically be in Ontario for the virtual appointment. I know this is due to OHIP regulations, I am a legal Ontario resident and covered under OHIP.
My question is if anyone knows whether the healthcare provider will actually have any way of knowing that I am out of province. The appointment is with Women's College Hospital in Toronto, and their info page says they use Zoom. It would be possible for me to travel into Ontario just for the appointment but it would be difficult and expensive. Does anyone have experience virtual healthcare appointments in Ontario and how they confirm your location?
update: thanks everyone! I'm a super anxious person and I've been waiting for this appointment for over 2 years, just got stressed that I might accidentally fuck it up but sounds like I'll be ok :)
