AITAH for telling my fiancé his "surprise" destination wedding plan is a nightmare and I don't want it?

My fiancé "Josh" and I are getting married next summer. We've been casually planning a local wedding—I thought we were on the same page. Nothing huge, just a nice venue, 80 guests, good food, low stress.

Then last night, he came home with a huge grin and announced he planned a "surprise"—he booked a wedding package in Costa Rica. For next month. He said it's "romantic" and "adventurous" and we could just "elopement-style" it. Only him, me, and a photographer.

I stared at him. I said: "You booked a wedding in a different country in less than 30 days without telling me?" He said "it's a surprise! Isn't this exciting?"

No. It's not exciting. I want my family there. I want my mom to see me get married. I want my best friend by my side. I don't want a stranger taking photos on a beach while I cry happy tears alone with a guy who didn't even ask me what I wanted.

He said I'm "ungrateful" and "ruining the romance." He said I can "plan a reception later" and "it'll be fine." I told him I'm not getting married in Costa Rica next month. If he wants a courthouse wedding, fine. But I'm not having a wedding I didn't agree to in a country I didn't choose on a date I never okayed.

He's been sulking and telling our friends I "rejected his dream proposal." But what about MY dream? AITAH?
