Hallo allemaal,

Wij hebben een zoontje van 8 maanden. Eigenlijk altijd vrolijk, tenzij natuurlijk honger, slaap of ziek. Verder is het een blijhoofd en vindt iedereen leuk en prima. Een echt doorgeefkind, gaat van schoot naar schoot en alles en iedereen is leuk.

Behalve opa. Arme opa.

Op een of andere manier is opa altijd foute boel. Kleine meneer krijgt meteen pruillip en als we hem niet van opa's schoot halen is het krijsen uit volle borst...

We kunnen niet zo goed achterhalen wat het probleem is en zijn benieuwd of iemand anders dit ook herkent. Het enige wat ik kan bedenken, opa heeft een glazen oog. Dus misschien ziet het er voor de kleine toch anders uit dan normaal en vindt hij dat eng?

Iemand tips?

I am currently in the works of replacing the Polar+ standard air assist. So far so good. However, I noticed that the air assist turns on when a job begins and ends when the job is done. Ignoring the Lightburn layer air assist setting.

I've checked machine vendor settings, there's no setting there that would change that. Is this a wiring issue? I could use any advice.

Tldr: OMTech sends me a polar+ instead of polar lite, for no extra cost. Is the polar+ worth it?

Purchasing a new desktop laser machine has been a soap for me at this point. Trouble with Onelaser, which they finally resolved but in the meantime I ordered the OMTech polar lite. But, living in EU, it's not yet available. They however are sending me a Polar+ instead, so I don't have to wait.

On the other side, I was about to cancel the polar lite order because onelaser just backtracked and are honoring the first quote they sent me (this is a whole story, if interested, I've already made a thread about this).

So, my question here is, is Polar+ a good machine that could handle (small) business use? Both cutting and engraving.

On February 10th I decided to get in contact with OneLaser to possibly buy their XRF machine, it was on sale at this time. The communication was fine, but sometimes a little finicky and at one point the sales person just 'forgot' about me and I had to remind him that I was still waiting on a quotation.

Note that I live in NL, Europe, so they had to wait for shipping information as well.

On March 10th I finally got the quote. At that point I wanted to take some time to decide and personal matters got in the way for a bit. But, on the quote it said: Quote expires: May 13, 2026

After some time I got back to them with a few more questions and on April 14th I decided to buy the machine. Below the quote there was a payment button, I clicked on it, and the link was broken. I e-mailed them back and they replied that they had changed software so that's why the link expired and they would send me a new invoice.

Now, on the original quote the price was $4,548.73, and on the new one they sent the price suddenly was $5,004.15 (note that this included shipping). So I mailed them again, this was not the price I said yes to. I got a reply that their sale ended and they could not lower the price for me.

What the actual f, I agreed to a quote that was and is still valid, but they've just decided not to honor it. I decided to send a complaint to their customer service about the sales communication and I got a reply back that stated that there's nothing they can do and the expiration date on the quote was a mistake.

And now, the XRF is on sale again. From $5,999,- for $5,299.00...

So the actual machine price went from $4,225.50 to $4,695.00 and now $5,299.00. A $1,000 increase in less than 2 months and within my original quote expiration date which they won't honor.

Their machines might be good, but this is just absurd. Think twice before buying OneLaser.
