I wrote a program for a musical light show on BMW using a K-DCAN cable
I wrote a small Windows program that lets you run custom Light Shows and sync your car's lights to music in real-time.
Some of you might have seen my posts in other BMW subs recently. I’m sharing this across a few specific communities because different chassis use different light modules (LSZ on E46, LCM on E39, FRM on E90). I genuinely want to see how the app handles these different architectures in the real world.
What you need:
- A Windows 10 or 11 laptop.
- A standard K+DCAN cable (with BMW Standard Tools / EDIABAS installed).
I have fully tested the app on my E46 (LSZ), and it works perfectly. Since the E39 uses the LCM module, I would be absolutely thrilled if someone could test it on their car to see how it handles the timing.
Please note: I am absolutely not forcing or pressuring anyone to do this. It is completely optional and just a fun DIY project. But if anyone has some free time and wants to try it out, it would make my day!
The source code and the download link are on my GitHub. I'll leave the link in the comments.
