American Certified Nursing Assistant to work in Sweden
CNA in the US to Undersjuksköterska in Sverige
Hello! I and my fiance are trying to get some information together to figure out if she can apply for an undersjuksköterska license with a CNA education.
She is currently an athletic trainer in the states and that degree was already rejected as being too specific for the swedish nurse assistant license. She would like to get the CNA certification in the states and then use that to reapply, but we can't get a straight answer on whether they'll accept that or if its comprable. We have been in contact with Socialstyrelsen already and they've been vague on what she can do and what they'll accept for this. They did tell us that she need a year of clinical experience in Sweden in order to get the license, and she is aware and working on the language requirement.
The other thing we are confused about is how to get that year of experience because she need a work visa to live and work in Sweden, but she cant get the license to do job until she have a year of experience....so it seems like a catch 22.
Any advice or has anyone gone this same pathway? Her career as an athletic trainer has been 10 years in orthopedics, pediatric care, first aid, emergency response, evaluation of orthopedic injuries, and rehabilitation through physical therapy. She would love to be a nursing assistant in orthopedics if possible.
