Checked under the car for rust. Trying to figure out if the rust is still manageable or already “run away” territory. Mostly rear wheel arches, under tail lights and some rust in the inner arches/coating underneath. Subframe and suspension mounts seem solid to me, mostly surface rust underneath.

Would this still pass as a decent driver/oldtimer in your opinion, or is this already heading into expensive structural repair territory?

Any W124 owners/restorers here with experience?

Hi guys

Thinking about buying my first w124. It’s a 1989, 230E, 5 speed manual with 290.000 km. Brown exterior and interior.

It has some small issues (electric leak, oil leak, engine shaking a little, ABS system not in very good state.) But also some rust almost on every side. Is this an okay deal to keep for a couple years after fixing the issues? Or is the rust too bad?
