Gave New and Egypt Station A Listen Today
I liked New, found it a really good listen. Is it his best? No, but it's a solid 6.5. The ballad vocal on the last 3 minutes of isn't good but I liked it.
Egypt Station isn't as good. But it's a 5. Nothing offensive. I kind of like Fuh You, good tempo. He could have culled 3 or 4 songs from the album, but it's ok.
The issues I have with the 2 albums, is I hear the same piano and bass lines going back 30 years. Second, it's seems like he's talking about finding the love of his life. As if, he's justifying marrying Nancy and writing her love songs. Third, it's nothing original, or groundbreaking, but pleasant. Nothing really Beatley about either.
Good walking music. Will listen again and see if they kick in.
