Philly Recs

My husband and I are a newlywed couple in our early 20s relocating from Texas to the Philly area for work, and honestly we have no idea where to live. Every area we research seems to have completely mixed reviews, so we’d love some local insight.

We’re planning to rent for the first year while we figure out where we eventually want to buy. Budget is around $4k–$7k/month. We’d prefer something newer, pretty, and well-kept — ideally with easy access to Pilates studios, coffee shops, restaurants, grocery stores, etc.

Our biggest priorities are very safe, walkable, good parking, relatively close(under 15 minutes)/easy commute into the city, and newer/luxury apartment or townhouse options. (A private garage would be amazing.)

We’re open to both city neighborhoods and suburbs. We only have one trip planned before the move, so we’re trying to narrow things down as much as possible beforehand.

Would really appreciate any neighborhood/building recommendations, areas to avoid, or places we should tour. Thank y’all! Super excited to be in Philly. (Any food & coffee recommendations are welcome too!)
