How should I make a good impression on my first day at work?

I’m starting a new job in a school and I’m super excited! How should I make a good impression on my first day? Mainly worried about my colleagues but of course would appreciate advice about building bonds with the teenagers too! Thanks everyone, this sub is always the best place to get advice ❤️

My worst case scenario came true

TW- animal death
For the last 6 months or so, my OCD has massively focused on one of my rabbits. Mainly around constantly needing to check she’s okay, at one point it was to the level that I didn’t sleep in my own bed for about 2 months because I was worried that if I left her alone something would happen to her.

Today it happened. She was perfectly fine yesterday. A bit lethargic and not quite herself today, so we booked her in with the vet just to be on the safe side. My partner and vet really weren’t too concerned at the point of booking in, it seemed like maybe she had a UTI but nothing overly scary (naturally I thought it was something incredibly serious, but I am far from a reliable source on that 😅). Then an hour before the appointment she just flopped over. We took her straight to the vet, we only live about 10 minutes away, but she passed about 2 minutes before we arrived. The vet had a look at her and couldn’t find any clear cause, but was very firm in telling us that there was nothing we could have done, even if we had brought her in first thing this morning it would have likely been the same outcome. We have booked the other 2 in for a check over just incase she had something contagious, and everything practical has been sorted.
How on earth do I ERP through this? I have 2 other rabbits (no idea why she was the one my ocd latched on to) and I really need to not end up in the same position. Edit- I have made a huge amount of progress with my rabbit specific compulsions and am no longer anywhere near what I would class as ‘crisis’ with it, just very aware this will likely undo a lot of that

I’m not currently able to access a therapist, so it’s kinda just me winging it (with an incredibly supportive partner and great friends).

We have also chosen to have her cremated because I didn’t like the idea of her being buried in the garden that the other 2 play in each day, and I can imagine I’m going to develop a lot of compulsions around keeping the ashes safe and things like that. If anyone has any sort of advice here I would really appreciate it! Thank you if you’ve read this far
