Hello Ridgeland SC

Hello Ridgeland SC

Low-key love this small town, the work ethic in these small towns are amazing and the people are nice as fuck.. probably going to try and hitch a ride for an hr and see how far I can get, if not I'll find a place to set up my hammock.. seems like a safe little area! Got a lil money from panhandling so I said fuck it and got Wendy's.. thank you everyone that's been following my adventure and all the positives comments!!

Goodbye Savannah, it was nice!

15 miles out of Savannah, I met another traveler and he ended up giving me $3 and some ciggies 🙏

Off into deeper South Carolina, I'm hoping to hit another trucker area soon and maybe get closer to the SC/NC border.

This room is... A room

At least I have a bed and a shower for the night, and I washed some cloths in the tub 🙏

I made it to Macon.... Why did I even come over here..

I just hate the feeling of this town so much, it's so low morale and it's the first time where I actually fear that my shit might get stolen.. I'm in a little hidey hole near a hospital, decent coverage for the most part near the main road.. absolutely no where to sleep, looks like this spot has never been used before.. I cant wait to wake up and get out of this town tomorrow

15 miles away from Macon!

Was able to get out of Valdosta thankfully!! My first two rides of the day were from local police dropping me off to the nearest city, they were extremely nice about it and was more than obliged to help, and my last ride of the same was from an extremely south Georgian ranting about politics (but he did give me alooot of information about Georgia and history)

Right over here in Byron Georgia, kind of a trucker hang out area.. if I can't get a ride out today I should be able to easily tomorrow!! I'll keep y'all updated

I was able to get a ride!!

Another long day, but it was a good one!!

Started off in Live oak, Florida and made my way up to Valdosta, Georgia.. I wanna say thank you to everyone who commented on my last post giving me advice on how to catch a ride and what to look out for!! My first ride was from an Individual named Kyle, he was telling me more about the horror stories in these small towns and what had happened to hitchhikers, his son was in the car and they were going fishing in the area they were dropping me off at.. the last ride I got (I honestly forgot her name) but she let me ride in the back of her pickup for 30 miles to Valdosta, she was a nice lady and gave me a $10 to grab a sub at the publix in town.. Valdosta seems like a nice city but I am on the outskirts of town though.. gonna find me a place to rest my head tonight and try to hitch out to Macon, Georgia, I hope I can catch a ride straight to there tomorrow but we'll see what the universe has in store.. Stay golden Dirty Kids and keep y'all's head up!!

First time Hitchhiking

This'll be my first time trying to hitch hike out of town, any advice besides "don't get killed"

I'm mostly just going to run a sign that says "NORTH" and see wherever people go.. hopefully I can land a ride by the end of the day .. stay golden Dirty Kids

I hate fire ants

Why are they attracted to wet clothing bro.. why are they attracted to anything.. why TF do these little motherfuckers even exist.. you'd think a shed would totally block their Sense of tracking a wet piece of clothing on a wooden floor, but nooo these little fucks find a way somehow.. fuck Fire ants and fuck Florida, can't even lay in a fucking shack without attraction.

Today's been a long one

Got out to the spot and instantly the other home bums came and squatted next to me, I didn't mind for the most part but it was definitely burning out the spot... Their names were Dylan and Mia and they seemed like a pretty nice couple.. it's obvious they do stuff and they even offered me to come to their encampment, but I respectfully declined, I'm honestly not trying to get mixed in with certain people while on the road.. but I made a decent amount at the spot and ended up getting some pizza (it's been 5 months since I've had a pizza).. ended up hanging around until 10pm and found me an unlocked shack for the night, it's a decent little spot and there's a small breeze coming through.. gonna post up here for the night and get out before this place opens . Stay safe everyone!!!

Today's Journey

Today's been a long day... Went out to the popular spot and did pretty decent for myself, first time ever doing this.. some very Christian veteran was talking to me about the end times and made me look at a couple pages, said he was at sodam and ghmora (or however you spell it).. told me to pass these notes around (he spelt Pfizer wrong).. said we were living in revelations and were doomed until Jesus arrives.. he gave me $10.. I don't mind hearing him out, I have patience when it comes to a lot of people and he ment well at the end of the day...... I spent around 8 hrs at the spot, my brother came around and offered me to stay in his makeshift shak for the night until the rain passes, I gladly accepted.. it's a nice look nook and I have a fan so it's going to be comfortable.. sitting outside, got the food cooking, smoking a cig, haven't been this relaxed and happy in a while..

Stay golden travelers

First time..Finally off..

Well I'm about to get out to the spot here in about an hour or so.... I'm just hoping the local drug addicts haven't burnt out the spot yet (some dude keeps yelling at cars to "buy him a McChicken" and that "he'll do anything" last time I saw him).... This will be my first time doing this....got my sign and back ready, feet ready and anxiety (not so much) ready... hoping to God there's generous people today, literally out of food (fingers crossed)... Wish me luck out there Dirty Kids

So i waited around an extra week or so so I could get better equipment for when I hit the road (all donated from my brother).. My pack weighs around 16-20lbs and I carry a 5 gallon bucket with some dry food plus the water I'll be carrying as well.. all in all it's not that heavy

.

.

2 pairs of pants

3 shirts

4 pairs of cotton socks

5 pairs of quick dry underwear

A light windbreaker jacket

Foam roll

Gloves and facemask

2 life straws good for 1000 gallons each

2 flashlights

AAA batteries for my head lamp

Hammock

A light tarp

Deodorant/cologne (idc I would like to smell decent while I travel)

Soap

Clipper and tweezers

Gloves

Flip flops for chilling

Markers for signs/tagging

Can opener

.

.

I know I can get rid of things to slightly lighten the load, but everything weighs practically nothing on its own, if I were to lighten the pack I would have to get rid of a few items for it to make a difference. There's probably a couple items I missed but all in all I think I'm ready to finally start hitching.
