Need advice with a car finance company.

Okay so I'm currently 38 years old and living in the UK. I live alone but I'm currently unemployed and registered as having disabilities.

My mother recently passed away but she had a car left on finance. The car finance company has given options with what to do with it. Option 1 and 2 is to buy the car or take over the finance. I cant afford either and I also don't drive.

Option 3 is to have them auction the car and any shortfall will be taken out of my mother's estate, aka her house which I'm currently living in and will likely own, I say likely as my mother did not leave a will, she also didn't have anything else of value and didn't have life insurance or leave any money behind.

Option 3 seems like my only option but I'm worried about how it will turn out. There's still quite a lot of money left to pay on my deceased mother's car finance and even a small shortfall could cost thousands. Any advice on what to do about this matter would be much appreciated as it has left me feeling very anxious and stressed.
