I adopted my dog four years ago and she's such a well behaved and affectionate little beagle mix. I've trained her so well with treats and positive reinforcement. She is my shadow and follows me so closely I can sometimes feel her touch my trailing leg when I'm walking through the house.
I'm having a problem trying to break her of the grossest habit of clearing her nose all over my legs every time I'm getting ready to take her outside. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. She does the toe tapping happy dance, right on my heels, and clears her nasal passageways in preparation to smell everything in the yard.
I love my dog so much but I cannot break her of this gross, and rude, habit no matter how much I try. Has anyone else had this issue and has anyone successfully gotten their pup to stop comitting this chemical/psychological crime on them?
Edit: Thank you for the replies. I don't think it fully clicked that it's just an instinctual response before, so thank you guys for pointing that out. I'll have to be more diligent in the future to try to keep a bit of distance between us before getting ready to take her outside in the future.

Got this picture just now when I was walking my dog.
