All Lions in the first, dominated the quarter. Davidson kicked 2, Peters, Mullins and Dooley the other goals. Nearly all Lions in the 2nd, Could've had a goal or two early in the quarter and let through a goal but still largely in control for most of the quarter. Davidson kicked her 3rd and C. Svarc kicked 2. Poorer 3rd had similar issues as the 2nd but lost control in the middle and didn't get it back until late. Dooley kicked her 2nd, R. Svarc kicked the other. Better 4th, Marlo Graham kicked her first AFLW goal in the last minute of the game.

Hickie was off injured for half of the 3rd and 4th but came back on and played out the game.

Hodder was a late out due to illness, Davison replaced her.

r/BrisbaneLions B&F Voting results for Round 19-21 2026

How vote counting works:

Top 3 total votes get the 3-2-1 for the match, If one of the top 3 places is a tie then it'll be most 3s then most 2s. Has worked until Round 21 this season, ended up splitting the 1 vote.

Also included the total overall votes but use 3-2-1 due to the variation of responses.

AFL Pre-Round 20: v Port Adelaide at the Gabba

Last time/win v Port/at the Gabba, Highlights. (R17 2025 at the Gabba. Lions had a poor first 10 minutes, then kicked 7 in a row largely winning the game there but had a poor 2nd kicking 1.4. Slightly better but even last half with the margin only getting below 20 for a minute in the 4th. Lions have won the last 3 v Port (including a QF) and 8 of the last 9. Last Gabba loss v Port was in R6 2017).

Injury List/In the Mix, Lions version: Gardiner (hamstring) 2-3 weeks, Payne (knee) season, Smith (foot) season. Zorko was cleared after some hamstring awareness v the Eagles had him sit out the 4th. Reville is likely available after being out for personal reasons last week. Smith injured his foot (lisfranc injury, usually a 6-8 week recovery) during the v Swans VFL game and is out for the year.

>The big decision for the Lions is whether to bring Oscar Allen back to face Port Adelaide on Sunday after his successful return from a foot injury through the VFL at the weekend. Coach Chris Fagan said he'd like to try the three tall forward set-up – alongside Logan Morris and Eric Hipwood – but who to leave out of a team that has won six straight games is difficult. Bruce Reville will be back from a personal absence last weekend, while veteran Dayne Zorko is expected to take his place after suffering some "hamstring awareness" against West Coast. - Michael Whiting

Game Day Guide. Tickets (Not many tickets left but a bunch showed up in 413). Free Bus and Rail PT with a ticket 4 hours before and after the game (except Airtrain). Translink Event Transport. Busses replace trains on the Shorncliffe line between Northgate and Shorncliffe and on the Gold Coast line between Beenleigh and Varsity Lakes. Trains are still running on a reduced timetable (for now) due to industrial action.

Dunkley backs Brisbane's 'iron man' (McCluggage) to get back to his best.

Brisbane forward Kai Lohmann was going through a lean patch until he was reminded how good he can actually be.

Lohmann is up for a R19 MOTY nom that you can vote for here.

Charlie should play his 200th Lions game this round. Currently on 199 and 272 overall (73 for the Crows).

Harris Andrews should captain his 100th game also. Started the season on 84 and this week will be his 16th game this season.

QT: Lions 1.3 9 trail Cats 4.1 25 by 16 points.

Pretty poor first from the Lions, Cats were all over them for the first 10 mins and kicked the first 3 before C. Svarc kicked the Lions first.

HT: Lions 4.5 29 trail Cats 5.4 34 by 5 points.

Far better 2nd with the Lions controlling most of the quarter and taking the lead by a point late in the 2nd before the Cats kicked their only goal of the quarter. Davidson, R. Svarc and Hartill the goalkickers. Top Lions disposal getter is Dawes with 13 at HT.

3QT: Lions 7.8 50 lead Cats 5.6 36 by 14 points.

Really good 3rd from the Lions. Bit of a stalemate for the first 5 mins of the quarter but pretty much all Lions after that. R. Svarc kicked her 2nd with O'Dwyer and Crozier kicking the other goals. Dawes still leading the Lions disposal count with 22.

FT: Lions 8.9 57 def Cats 8.6 54 by 3 points.

Not a great 4th but Lions did enough.

AFL Pre-Round 17: v Geelong Cats at GMHBA Stadium

note: It'll be 30 years on Saturday 4th July since the merger was made official. Go watch The Merge doco again/if you haven't.

Last time v the Cats, Lowlights. (R10 2026 at the Gabba. Wet game. Morris kicked his 100th and Bailey kicked his 200th but a poor game from the Lions. Really poor 1st quarter, came back in the 2nd and evened it up. Cats then kicked the next 7 and were up by 40 in the middle of the 3rd. Lions did get it back under 30 but not for long with the Lions having a poor 4th).

Last win v the Cats, Highlights. (2025 GF at the MCG. Fairly even early on, Lions missed a few in the first then didn't miss in the 2nd with both teams even at HT. 3rd was fairly even until the last 5 mins where Charlie kicked 2 and Neale kicking a huge goal to break the game open. Goal fest in the last with 9.5 v 2.1 at one point before the Cats kicked the last 3).

Last time/win v the Cats at KP, Highlights. (R15 2025. Lions were on early and kicked the first 4 goals, Cats tried to fight back and made it a more even 2nd but did inherited Brisbehinds. Was all Lions in the last half. This was the Lions first win v the Cats in Geelong since R6 2003).

Injury List/In the Mix, Lions version: Doedee (calf) 1 week, Zorko (quad) 1 week, McCluggage (hamstring) 1 week, McLachlan (quad) 1 week, McCarthy (calf) 2-3 weeks, Allen (foot) 2-3 weeks, Payne (knee) TBC. Annable, Coleman and Hayes are likely to return this week but all via VFL according to both Fish and the Lions:

>The trio are all likely to make their returns via the VFL against Collingwood on Saturday.

...

>For one of the rare times in 2026, the Lions could go unchanged for Thursday night’s match against Geelong at GMHBA Stadium. Keidean Coleman and Daniel Annable are back from injury, but will likely return through the VFL, with McCluggage and Zorko still another week away. Chris Fagan played four taller defenders last week and will likely do the same against the Cats’ powerful forward line. - Michael Whiting

Game Day Guide. Tickets (Still a large number of tickets left, mostly back rows. No free junior tickets showing up). Transport: South Geelong Station is a few hundred metre walk east of the ground. V/Line is running fine.

Lions Vic Fan Fest is on at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC), Albert Park. Friday 3rd July from 9:30am–11:30am. Free entry.

Lions open training is on next week, BHA, Springfield. Tuesday 7th July from 8.30am. (Can also enter a kid in a comp for a 5-minute experience with their favourite Lions player).

Ty Gallop was announced as the Round 16 Rising Star. Lions version.

Lions Academy players Molly Ferguson, Ameleia Murray, Kya Wills-Rawling, Indiana Scheffler, Zoe Petrides, Raffi Baviello got shout outs and named in the best players as QLD def Vic country in the U-18s. Lions version.

Around the state leagues.

This week: Lions v Collingwood at Barry Plant Park (Coburg), Saturday 4th July at 10am AEST. (This was at Vic Park but moved for some reason).

Caylen Murray got a mention in the Rookieme scouting notes v Vic metro:

>Stats: 17 disposals, 7 marks, 3 rebound 50s

>Albeit on a less prolific scale, Murray was his usual self bounding out of defence. He combined with the likes of Devine to pick up the ball deep and drive it forward aggressively, using his speed to break the lines. Murray was a little off with his foot skills as he looked to force the issue kicking into the wind, but began to find his groove and shift gears to suit the conditions. At his best, he sliced through the corridor and allowed his side to move from end-to-end in a flash. The talented Queenslander ended up spending some time on-ball late in the game.

Edit:

Team:

In: nil

Out: nil

emergencies: Marshall, Brain, Smith.

Lions look like they'll be wearing the FFC jumper also going by the picture. Only announced they'd be wearing it v the Saints in R3 and Pies in R24 earlier this year so maybe not.

AFL Pre Round 16: v Sydney Swans at the Gabba

Last time v the Swans, Lowlights. (R1 2026 at the SCG. Had a really poor first half and only managed 2.6 by HT. Far better last half with the total goals getting doubled in the 3rd and 4th and actually won it by 6 points but misses combined with being 40+ down most of the game and a bye the next week meant it never got close).

Last time v the Swans at the Gabba, Lowlights, Last 2 mins. (Round 22 2025. Wet Game, More Swans for most of the game. Lions were down by 28 in the middle of the 4th and nearly made the comeback but just fell short).

Last win v the Swans, Highlights, Last 2 mins. (Round 1 2025 at the SCG. Was the game with no Charlie, Lohmann out early and Starcevich concussion. Poor first half by the lions, far better 2nd half. Close 4th but the Lions led the entire quarter).

Last time/win v the Swans at the Gabba, Highlights, Last 2 mins. (Round 19 2024. Lions got off to a good start, Swans came back and Lions hit the front late with an Ah Chee goal. Lions have won 5 of the last 7....it's just that the last two have been losses).

Injury List/In the Mix, Lions version: Lester (calf) test, Smith (foot) test, Torrent (ankle) test, Annable (shoulder) 1 week, Coleman (hamstring) 1 week, Hayes (shin) 1 week, Doedee (calf) 1-2 weeks, Zorko (quad) 2 weeks, McCluggage (hamstring) 2 weeks, McLachlan (quad) 2-3 weeks, McCarthy (calf) 3-4 weeks, Allen (foot) 3-5 weeks, Payne (knee) TBC. Lester seems almost guaranteed to play. Smith and Torrent should be back in the VFL. Some huge moves on this injury list with Annable going from 8 weeks in R13 - 1 week now and McLachlan going from 8 weeks in R14 to 2-3 now.

>Lester will return straight into the 23 barring any last-minute hiccups, which would likely result in either Shadeau Brain being an unlucky omission or Ty Gallop being shuffled forward again and someone else being left out. Coleman took part in team drills on Tuesday morning, with McCluggage doing a heap of goalkicking as he closes in on a return. - Michael Whiting

VFL

Lions have a bye

This week: Lions v Tassie Devils (standalone...for now) at BHA, Friday 26th June at 11:05am AEST.

Make it a Springfield Friday for Lions v Devils (Lions made a special post for it).

SA pair combine for 10 goals in big win over Allies:

>The clear best player for the Allies was Caylen Murray, who is a first-round pick contender with 31 disposals and two goals as well as six inside-50s.

>The Brisbane Academy prospect looks set to join the list of recent Academy graduates at the Lions and will shoot further up the draft board if he finishes the championships in similar form.

Caylen Murray is getting some praise after the SA v Allies game.

Rookieme scouting notes:

>Stats: 31 disposals, 9 marks, 7 rebound 50s, 2 goals

>Despite his side losing by 11 goals, Murray was clearly the best player afield. Along with Devine, he distributed the ball with neat foot skills out of defence and consistently looked to take the game on. Murray’s speed and timing made him a constant threat on the overlap, often seen attacking the corridor and burning away from opponents. There have been question marks on his defensive game, but he held up well in one-on-one situations and hunted the loose ball in pressure situations. While guilty of forcing the issue at times, Murray was one of the few Allies capable of hurting SA. He was even swung forward in the final quarter and slotted two richly deserved goals.

Cooper Hodge also got some praise:

>Stats: 17 disposals, 4 marks, 4 tackles, 3 clearances

>Hodge missed game one but got up to speed in no time, becoming his side’s most prominent inside midfielder. The combative ball winner was often sighted clearing the packs with an opponent hanging off him, which impacted his disposal but showed great tenacity. Hodge thrived at the stoppages with his clean hands and core strength, getting the Allies moving forward any way he could.

Edit:
