Compression Socks/Stockings

For those who had a labral hip repair surgery, were you given thigh high compression socks/stockings, or knee compression socks/stockings? My surgeon ordered one pair of thigh highs (I wish he would've at least given me two pairs), and the hospital gave me knee highs (they placed one pair at the hospital day of surgery, and gave me one pair to take home). I'm 8 days post op and have been wearing the knee highs, but thought maybe I should switch to thigh highs since that's what the doctor ordered for me and it might give more coverage to the femoral veins in regards to DVTs/PEs. I wasn't given instructions as to how long I'd be wearing them (in terms of weeks).

Another thing they didn't explain to me was taking Naproxen. I thought it was just for pain, as needed. Now reading through some experiences, it's prophylaxis to prevent heterotopic ossification. I'm 8 days post op, but haven't been taking it as directed on the bottle. Obviously, now I know better from reading people's experiences on reddit.

Input about the socks/stockings from those who have been through this process would be appreciated. Thanks!

TMI

I am one week post labral hip repair surgery, and it's been okay pain wise. Off narcotics and mostly just icing and Tylenol as needed. I'm 25% weight bearing with a walker, but have been trying to keep it less than 25%. I'm paranoid if I'm going to make a wrong move or pivot the wrong way. I'm trying my best.

My TMI question is, would it be okay to self pleasure, one week out? I'm a female, and I'm just thinking position wise, staying on my back, operated leg straight and non operated leg doing whatever range of motion it needs to position to get comfortable. I plan to make it as short as possible. I don't really want to message my surgeon this question, would rather ask the masses that have been through this. I'd really like to, but also I'm scared to mess up the repair. Appreciate any input, thanks!

Labral hip tear recovery

For those who have had labral hip repair surgery, were your instructions no weight bearing on the affected leg, or weight bearing as tolerated? I just had this surgery today, and before the surgery, the instructions were no weight bearing on affected side, but after surgery he changed them to weight bearing as tolerated. I didn't have a chance to speak with the surgeon afterward and will see him in a week. But, wanted to see if other can weigh in. Thanks!

Labral Hip Tear Repair Surgery

Hello, for those who have had this surgery, is there anything you would recommend purchasing in preparation for recovery? I will be provided with some medical equipment (crutches, ice machine) but for those that have been through it, any recommendations would be helpful. Thanks!

Sofi Stadium Seating

Question for Sofi stadium attendees— I have seats in section 346 for next week. I didn't think about the logistics of shade vs more sun exposure when choosing seats. I'm asking because my mother who is in her 70s will be attending and the game is at noon. I just wanted to verify if this section, or the stadium in general, gets super hot? I've only been to Sofi for concerts at night, never for games. Would appreciate some insight. Thanks!

Delayed Checks

I haven't received my last 3 temporary disability checks. My lawyer is aware as I contacted them after the first one didn't get delivered (via mail). I never received notice about my temporary disability benefits being suspended. Is this "normal" in workers comp cases? I've been dealing with this case for over a year.

Choosing a generator

Hello,

I don't know anything about generators, but would like to be a bit more prepared in case anything happens in the future. I live in California and the interior of the house is 1205 sqft. Can anyone point me in the right direction or have some suggestions of what I should be looking for in a generator? Thanks

Injured Crow in LA?

Hello,

There's a crow that's been hanging around my pool. It kept going along the edge so I'm assuming it wanted water. There were a couple of crows above it in trees, calling towards it. This started 24 hours ago. I left it some water and an apple last night. This morning, I left it a hard boiled egg. When I got near it with the egg, he freaked out a little and fell into the pool, but luckily I got him out with the pool net. He's been under a bench near bushes since this morning. I did see him drink the water I set out. Don't know if he ate some of the egg.

I'm unsure what to do. I called animal control and I asked what would happen to it, they said they would likely euthanize it so I canceled the call. I don't know if this is a fledgling or an adult crow. I'm unsure what else to do. I don't know if there's a wild life bird rehab in the San Gabriel Valley (where I am located, still LA county).

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I will be giving it ground beef and crushed up dog kibble today.
