Questions on timing effects for Ninjutsu
Hi all, I built a [[Goro-Goro and Satoru]] deck that’s kind of a weird mix of ninja and dragon tribals (I call it “Teenage Ninja Dragons”) and one of the key cards in the Deck is [[Satoru Umezawa]] and in play testing, I’m starting to see interactions past the obvious GGS triggers that I was wondering about.
First, if I have a [[Sarkan, Soul aflame]] on the field tapped and attacking along with another creature and my opponent blocks him but I ninjutsu out a dragon (literally any flying dragon) from the other unblocked creature, is Sarkan still considered blocked if he gains flying?
Second, several dragons have a “when this dragon attacks” or “when a dragon attacks trigger” and I wonder how those work with Ninjutsu. Remember part of these examples is Satoru is on the field giving dragons in my hand Ninjutsu. If I ninjutsu a [[Silumgar, the Drifting Death]], is it going to see itself or other dragons attacking and give the defending creatures the -x/-x? My assumption is because it’s not on the field during the declare attacker steps, it doesn’t see them attacking and won’t trigger. Which brings in a follow up, if Silumgar is already on the field and I ninjutsu in another dragon (let’s say by bouncing another unblocked non-dragon creature) does Silumgars minus values update with the new attacking dragon?
Forgive me if I didn’t format this well, this is my first post. I also only got back into magic right around the release of Lorwyn with my prior experience being standard only in 2012-2013, so I’m still trying to grasp the timings on some of these effects.
