Specific + General English Cocker Spaniel (show type) Grooming Q's (Denver, CO)

Hi! I am looking for advice on a couple different English Cocker Grooming related things...

  1. Does anyone in the Denver Metro area either groom English Cockers (show type) or know of groomers that groom according to their 'breed standard' cut? Photo is of him last week post-swim/mid-air dry lol

I have a 7 month old ECS (companion/pet) and I have read a lot about how its important to bring them to a groomer that specifically knows how to groom them based on their coat type and breed standard. I don’t need anything crazy fancy as he is not competitive in shows, and I honestly dont know how different grooming their coat is in comparison to other type dogs, but I do want to groom him responsibly as his coat is so silky and soft!

  1. At-home brushing / coat care -- is a stripping tool/brush the brush that promotes a smooth/silky coat and is good to get rid of the poofy 'cotton ball' looking hair?

Everything online says to get a stripping brush/tool, but when I try to find the best one for ECS, I am always led to the Chris Christensen Big G Slicker, which I already have. This doesnt get rid of that poofy look, so I know I need something different.

Any help is appreciated, and tips/suggestions/etc. are welcomed (: THANK YOU!
