I don’t think I’ll ever use the Aug A1 again.
Had the complete drop on someone, unloaded most of a clip about 10/15 metres, missed every shot (such a bad gun)
They turn, aim, bang back to the coast.
Fair play, as bad as I was, you absolutely smacked me down.
Just wanna say give a shout out to what I think was a 4 piece, I started a fight with and lost today on official.
I assumed it was a 2 man squad, knocked out one, took out the other. In the middle of the stand off, the squad kept growing in true day z fashion (there’s always more).
I met my demise to a thumper, enjoy the loot 🫡
Had a fully geared 30+ hour character on official, with an aug/dmr.
Decided to play for pvp/stalk/hunt players. The area I’ve been scoping has some traffic, but figured someone had a stash/base somewhere close after seeing a truck and through a previous fire fight I escaped (2v1).
Yesterday, whilst searching, I hear a heli crash close, so rush to it. Did a quick scope of the tree lines. Everything looks OK, soon as I get to the heli, bullets are wizzing by, I get hit, but realise they’re suppressed, as I turn to see them, it’s too late. (Mistake 1)
New character, make my way to my stash, as I had another DMR, manage to grab an aug on the way. By the time I’m back kitted, beginning to starve. Manage to get some carp, and head to the nearest building. It was nighttime so wanted a closed stove.
Just as I get to the building, I catch something moving across the field. Too far out to be a Z, pull out my DMR, down they go, double tap (around 200m)
Scope about the place again, looks clear, so I push to loot (mainly food). Soon as I start looting, I hear a pop, screen goes black - hopefully no double tap. (Mistake 2).
I manage to wake up, I had a press vest and ballistic helmet but no bleed, no broken bones, and hear someone firing on me. I spin quick, see them and hit the ground, as I do, I manage to land a few in the legs with my Aug. Big win, plenty of steaks, gun cleaning kits ammo the lot.
Lesson learned. Patience is key.
TL:DR - I won a fire fight. Just a story of my best run yet, as still rather fresh.
I’ve been trying to get more involved with PVP, I’ve killed a few people before, but been trying my hand at sniping. I’ve built a stash over the last month, happened to have a VS and a Le Mas.
Took myself off to Sverograd region, hoping for some high foot fall, nothing, got bored went exploring. Few hours later, end up getting minced by someone who just had far better reaction times.
TBH, I raged and thought fuck this (I had a bad run of deaths). As always we power through, so log on tonight, god knows where I am, end up aggroing a couple of zeds. So I get into a building, as I’m upstairs I’m looking out the window checking their position, out the corner of my eye on the edge of town. I thought that’s not a zed…it wasn’t I waited patiently, positioned myself. Just as I line up, get attacked by another zed, take that out with my knife, luckily they didn’t see me, and even better they stop to fill up their canteen. Took em out with the repeater.
They had some good loot, including a CR-557 but no mag. I continue on my travels, and this time I get lucky come across a convoy, as I’m looting away, again out the corner of my eye, something moved differently. I’m in the open and there’s zeds too, so I run, hop onto the back of a truck, and we have at it, I fire my 2 remaining bullets from my repeater, not sure if I hit, they’re landing bullets against the truck (luckily), I the realise I’m out, switch to my MLock(from my wheel) fire my 2 shots at them…nothing.
I then managed to get the CR out, and get 1 shot off, I don’t think I’ve hit them, but maybe the mlock as they bail, chased by a now agro’d zed. I wait them out, thinking they may have combat logged. They hadn’t, they reappear, I finally land a shot with the CR, down they go, I push them now, forgetting to reload. Have to rechamber a round, they wake up, they begin to crawl…I finish the job, and that’s how I landed a DMR, went and looted the convoy and also grabbed an M-16.
Crazy how the game has you so bi-polar for it, and well done if you’re at this point and hadn’t been bored to death.
