Trying to make the barrels look weathered. I layered paint and then partially removed it with isopropyl. It’s not quite getting the effect and I’m looking for tips on making it look realistically rusty and old.

Instead of haunting eBay looking for more Warhammer minis, I have decided to try working on some of my pile of shame. Here is some WIP specimen cylinders I stated but never got around to finishing.
