Colleague found out i’m leaving

so i work for branch banking and my grandad visiting accidentally let it slip abt my admission to med to a colleague of mine
my colleague advised me to maintain full transparency but im just so upset rn
apparently it would’ve been worse if i handed my notice etc knowing all the training thats been spent on me cus it would’ve pissed off my manager even more
my initial plan was close to leaving i’d ask for possibly transferring to a branch in my new city but it wouldn’t have been enough notice if i asked a month before leaving according to my colleagues advice
so I am gonna be brave and let my manager know but at the same time he said i might be trained as a diff type of role which i don’t wanna do before being sent as part time to that branch
that role means i wont be able to earn much money at all basically so its a pointless part time
i assumed i could do my current role hybrid in the new branch but idk i guess i’ll have to explore my options with my manager when i break the news
i have a bad feeling abt this, is maintaining transparency the right thing here
knowing i could go to uni with a part time job sorted is a reassurance tho financially so i am very torn
what should i do?

I am leaving a nice role I landed before I got into med school (got into this job one month before I got the good news), and since i’m a pessimist i didn’t anticipate getting in so my current job is very serious and not the kind u do a few months at and leave
i’m not sure how to break the news i’m leaving and i’ve decided to keep from my workplace that i’m entering med school because it may seem like i undermined the company and took my job as a joke
so I am going to say i’m moving to another city as the reason for leaving
but is this a good idea and can giving partial truths have any repercussions?
