How to install Android on CachyOS?
I'm wondering if anyone has successfully installed Waydroid on CachyOS, because I've been trying for several days and I always end up running into a different issue.
I've managed to install Waydroid along with all the required dependencies, including the ARM translation libraries. However, once I finally get it running, a lot of problems start showing up.
Some of the issues I've encountered are:
- Severe graphical glitches.
- Waydroid sometimes doesn't start at all.
- Wi-Fi or audio randomly stop working inside Waydroid.
- I can't install Android applications.
- Some apps that require ARM translation constantly crash or simply won't open.
- Even when Waydroid does start, it's almost unusable because of the graphical glitches.
I've already tried pretty much everything:
- Followed the official documentation.
- Searched for solutions on forums and GitHub.
- Used AI tools and did extensive research.
- Reinstalled everything from scratch multiple times.
- Tried both the regular kernel and the LTS kernel.
Despite all that, I always end up with one or more of these issues and can't get a stable installation.
So I wanted to ask:
- Does Waydroid actually work properly on CachyOS, or are these issues still common?
- Is there a specific installation procedure that avoids all these problems?
- Is there any additional configuration required to get hardware acceleration and ARM applications working correctly?
If anyone has a working setup, I'd really appreciate it if you could share the steps you followed or point me to a guide that actually works.
Thanks in advance!
