28 Days Later: The Church Scene

The church scene were Jim first encounter infected is really haunting, the gormless face on them when they look up. But their looks like lots of dead bodies on the floor in the church, were these infected that had already starved/dehydrated and died? And considering that Jim hadn't encountered any infected up to that point, were infected already dying?

In 28 years we see infected by a stream, almost using it as a home base as they're just lingering there, maybe for continual access to water and hunting when needed? They're not dead after all so still have basic needs, and having an alpha to guide them on meeting those needs also helped?

Sorry if this is common knowledge, it only just occurred to me.

I'm tired

I took a five day break from job searching, I'm on day 2 back on the wagon and I'm already depleted.

I'm fed up of seeing one one or two graduate jobs in a sea of Principal, Senior, Lead, Manager titles. I'm fed up of the wild goose chase that young people are constantly given, now being told to networking. But people in jobs don't want to speak to graduates, they want to get on with their work. And if they do respond they just tell you to use the website contact form, which is just a form of purgatory. And if I hear one more time that I just need to keep my chin up and not get discouraged, I'm gonna lose it.

It feels like I've done everything right, I got two degrees, I got experience. Now I'm being told to network and develop my skills which sure I'll do but I don't know how much that will actually improve my chances. It just seems like the latest advice for young people is to place blame and responsibility on them rather then the job market.

Anyway, hope all your job searches are going better than mine.

Protecting Mental Health

I've made a rule in outlook that bounces any emails with this wording to my archive. I've really put in the effort lately to apply to a heap of jobs and rejections are daily and it's impacting my mental health so I don't need to see these.

Thought this might be helpful to anyone else getting their self worth pummelled.

You'll never find anyone more unprofessional that a professional

I had a job interview from a filler job for the summer, this was done with a HR personnel and they said they manager of the site would be in contact for a second interview. He got in contact, but worded it really weird saying 'I hear you want a tour of the site' rather than an interview which threw me off. Before this point I had pretty much decided I didn't want the role as it was office work but had shift patterns and weekend work and I didn't understand the need for both. I was going to decline but friends said I should just ask for more information about the shift work and if it was possible not to do it as they also didn't see why an admin role needed to work until 9pm. So I did and no response.

I know it wouldn't do anything but I want to follow up and enquire further just to hold them responsible for my own satisfaction - in the same way I request updates for jobs that I know I haven't got based on how long has gone by because you should have the decency to let me know I didn't get it. I just needed to complain, I know this is just the job market and we're all fodder to them.
