Is a pinch of baking soda a possible work-around for acidity in reflux

Citric acid in a favorite sugar-free soda issue. Has anyone tried adding a tiny amount of baking soda to their fruit juice, soda, etc. I've added a tiny amount of baking soda to flavored sodas & seltzer waters. Also diluting either of them with an equal or a quarter amount of water. Since my reflux is mostly invisible I don't know yet; last endoscopy similar to one previously, showed inflammation in gastric cardia, metaplasia, and now moving from famotidine to omeprazole since famotidine made only slight improvement in result.
