Conflicting pet carrier information...
I am so confused. I received an email telling me the following: "Allegiant welcomes small dogs and cats as pets within a preferred soft-sided carrier no larger than 8”H x 14”W x 18”L. Pets must fully remain in the carrier for the duration of the flight. Please visit our Traveling with Pets page for additional tips for traveling with a pet."
I go to that page, which is what I had referenced when purchasing the carrier. "A soft-sided carrier may be no larger than 18”L x 12”W x 11”H when fully closed to contain the pet."
Sooooo which is it? I'm seeing horror stories of people getting turned away at check-in, but also there is approximately one 8 inch tall option I'm finding online which seems awfully small, even for a small cat. Don't they need to abide by TSA regulations for the pets comfort above all?
UPDATE: called their customer service and the automated response said 11" h for soft side and 10.5" h for hard side carriers is acceptable, which matches the website. I'm going to go with that and hope for the best. Seems the 8" h might be an outdated standard.
