John Muir trail questions

Hey guys!! I’m doing a quick backpacking trip to treasure lakes next week and it’ll be my first time in the sierra. But Ive also fell into a JMT rabbit hole. I want to do it maybe next summer does anyone have recommendations on shorter sierra backpacking trips to train for this? Also any recommendations on group trips or tour guides? I would love to do this with just my friends but I think my mom would pass away haha.

Treasure lakes backpacking

Hey guys!! I made a post a couple weeks ago about what Little lakes valley is like but unfortunately the permits sold out in seconds and I didn’t get one 😞. So we pivot and I booked treasure lakes. This is my first time doing backcountry camping in the sierra. Has anyone done this trip and have any advice. Here’s our plan ish:
Day 1: drive to trailhead (about a 4-5 hour drive), try to get there around noonish to hike into the lower lake and camp there
Day 2: hike to upper lake
Day 3: hike out and drive home

I’m kind of worried about getting a parking spot if we arrive at noon so if anyone knows if they have a big lot or if it tends to fill quickly. Also is our trip too short for this spot I was able to get Friday off and I can probably get Monday but is it worth it? Any advice would be appreciated 🫶

Backpacking little lakes valley

Hey guys! I was supposed to go to LLV the last weekend of May however there was much more snow than anticipated. So I’m planning on going the 2nd week of July. Any updates on the snow pile now or predictions on how it might be? Should I push further just in case it’s still too cold? Also I’m trying to get a permit but it looks like they don’t open until 2 weeks before, but I was able to get one for May around 2 months before. Is this normal? Additionally, for people who have done this trip before, did you sleep at the trailhead camp the night before hiking in and is it usually available. We have around a 5 hour drive so we can’t get there before the afternoon and I know it’s a popular hike so I’m worried about where we could stay the night before. Any advice would be appreciated, I’m pretty new to backpacking but I’m super excited for this spot!

Best backpacking routes with bathrooms

Hey guys!
I’m looking for a backpacking route (a couple days long) preferably in the sierras or in the California mountains with bathrooms at every campsite. It’s just a personal preference I’m not a fan of peeing in the woods and I like my skincare but I still want an awesome experience in the sierras. I was looking at little lakes valley but I know it’s backcountry camping but I like the vibe of that area. Let me know what you guys recommend, I’ve done Catalina island and loved that but I want to head up to the mountains late July- early August.

Backpacking little lakes valley this weekend

Me and some friends are planning on backpacking little lakes valley Saturday through Monday this upcoming week. We are pretty beginner hikers but athletic. Do yall think we will be okay in the weather, I was looking online and I’m worried about snow. I’ve never hiked in snow before and am pretty inexperienced in cold weather. Any tips on this spot?
Update: we ended up cancelling the trip and are headed to Big Sur instead. Thanks for the advice we will be heading to LLV in August instead (hopefully)…
