Built my first workbench/woodworking project in general. My main goal was to not have any "structural screws" so I notched out any joint that would carry any sort of load. It ended up incredibly solid, but I will say I have a lot to learn about properly measuring and cutting, as well as properly planning ahead. I had to go back a few times and disassemble things a bit to cut some notches.

Just planted this Pink Weeping Cherry 5 days ago and can't tell if we're getting sunburned or we're watering it too much. We've been doing maybe 5 or more gal at a time, usually 2 to sometimes 3 times a day if I forget to check with my SO before I turn the hose on.

It's in some super dry/dense clay soil, so I threw a bag of compost and 2 bags of topsoil in the hole with mulch on top to try and help things.

What do y'all think? Is the sun cooking it or are we goofing on the watering?

Just moved into a new house and I'm thinking of installing a bunch of rain barrels under the porch to hold rainwater collected from the roof. Why is this a bad idea, or what am I missing that would make this tough or impossible?

My rough plan is to place the barrels into 2 rows to start, all connected by a manifold that feeds a pump. The goal would be to use the water for both our garden and to help rehab the lawn, which is in pretty rough shape.

The porch is 10ft by 11.5ft by 38in high, so there's room underneath to have the barrels standing vertically. I've got a couple old tarps I'll prolly throw underneath everything to keeps the weeds and dirt down, but what other little details am I missing?
