Okay so someone here might know what I'm talking about .. . I hope.
I am 32 male and have had upper neck pain now for a long time, worsening in the last year or two.. The pain is right at the top of my neck just below my skull it feels like some sort of sub occipital muscle issue. But I have also noticed a solid correlation between my upper neck pain and a weird sort of pressure sensation in my head, I also feel kind of off balance, almost lightheaded or spacey it's strange I can't put my finger on it, it feels uncomfortable I know that much. I get strange sensations around my eyes, sometimes they feel a bit sensitive to the light. Another weird thing when I first lay down to bed in the evening I'll get weird feeling like my body is moving up and down with my heart rate almost like something in my neck is pulsating it's very strange. But one thing for sure I have realised that on the odd day that my neck has no pain generally the other neurological or head symptoms aren't there at all or much much less.
It's so frustrating because I had a cervical MRI they said there was nothing there. I have had a few brain MRI with and without contrast. Nothing of significance.
But seriously when my upper neck is playing up the rest of the symptoms make daily life a struggle. I'm worried it's like a blood flow issue in my neck or even like some sort of nerve issue ? Vagus nerve ? Or like the occipital nerves. I'm not sure I'm really looking for advice :)
