Data center development has been accelerating across Illinois, and with it comes real concerns about water usage, noise, and air pollution for nearby residents. I found this short survey, put together by the youth-led nonprofit the LinkMind Foundation, to better understand how these projects are actually affecting the communities near them and whether some areas are facing greater environmental risks than others.

It only takes about 3-5 minutes. They are trying to get responses from as many different counties/towns as possible, so feel free to share if you know someone dealing with this, too. 

Wow, I just read a really shocking and concerning report from Environment Illinois about microplastic contamination in Illinois waterways. This report tested over 30 sites for microplastics, including Lake Michigan, the Mississippi River, and the Cache River. The results: every site (31/31) tested positive.
