Hi everyone,
I'm looking to buy 4 beam moving heads to take with us on tour and use as part of our own stage production.
The fixtures would typically be placed at the front of the stage and aimed upward, mainly for aerial beam effects and dynamic looks throughout the set. We'd also use them for some audience sweeps and movement effects when appropriate.
Most of the venues we play are indoor venues with a capacity of around 1,000 people, and there is usually haze available.
What wattage would you recommend for this application?
Would 230W beam fixtures be sufficient, or should we be looking more at 300W–350W+ units? Since we're purchasing and touring with them ourselves, we're trying to find the best balance between output, weight, reliability, and cost.
