lyrics about inadequacy, mental health, loneliness, giving up?

Need to wallow in self-pity for a bit so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. An example of what I'd be looking for is "on the verge" by thrown, "The Old Me" by Memphis May Fire or "Trapped" by The Word Alive, or "Drag Me The Rain" by Bloodred Hourglass.

Edit: it doesn't have to strictly be just metalcore. Throw whatever you feel fits in there.

Unearth - Eyes of Black (“Darkness In the Light” Turned 15 yesterday)

This came out my senior year of undergrad, which means I am old now.

Anyway I missed this anniversary yesterday but I love Unearth and will always post them when I get a chance.

Old metalcore song that sampled a quote from a ninja movie?

I need all of your help remembering a band/album I used to love when I was in college.

The most unique thing I can remember about this album is that one song, maybe the first song, had a sample from an English language movie.

It was a sample of what sounds like a little boy recounting his father killing a bunch of ninjas or samurai or something like that.

I feel like this band was a one-and-done band, or that the album in question was the only notable one.

For reference I am 35 years old, and I think the album in question came out around 2007-2009.

Edit: after sitting on my sofa for an hour and racking my brain, I remembered!!

The band is Knives Exchanging Hands, the album is called Hiatus, and the song in question is The D.O.E are Stone Cold Killers

Guys, I hate this timeline we’re in where I hear a new band (new to me) and immediately have to dig through apps to see if they’re AI

Because as we know, AI bands have really made a home in metalcore. It’s so frustrating. I’m so tired of it lol

Honestly, it’s been a bit since I’ve gotten one on Spotify that I’ve noticed, but that’s also maybe because I’ve stopped using Discover Weekly and started using Release Radar. Which kind of sucks because most of my giant playlist of various genres was found in Discover Weekly over the years

But this song and dance of having to open their Spotify and check for anything pre-2023, then if they’re a newer band having to check social media, it’s all so exhausting and bleak

I don’t even want to say fuck AI here. I think it has its uses. But fuck people who use AI to make art as if it’s their own

Edit: To be clear, this isn't a "boo Spotify/Apple/Whatever" type of post. This is an "I am now unable to trust new bands I hear and I hate what AI has done to me" type of post

Which fictional character would probably be a huge fan of core-adjacent genres like metalcore, deathcore and post-hardcore?

Doesn't have to be from a specific franchise. Be they be derived from comics, movies, video games or television shows. I'm curious to know, because I feel like metalcore is one of those genres that's both one of the more mainstream metal subgenres and still pretty niche ironically, with only a handful of bands breaking into the cultural zeitgeist.

A Tear In The Fabric Of Life is a masterpiece

I have spun this EP hundreds of times and it still hits like it did the first time. 10/10 metalcore, my favorite EP of all time. Knocked Loose at their absolute finest

2010’s Attack Attack Merch

I have been searching everywhere for a shirt I bought back in 2011. I can’t even find any sign this shirt even existed other than the fact that I have pictures of me wearing it. It was a white shirt with a zombie pilot going down in a bomber plane. If I can figure out how to add a picture I will. At this point I kind of just want to know if anyone even remembers it. Am I crazy?
