I had an appointment made two weeks ago to install/activate internet service at a new address (I'm in the middle of move at this moment) today, Thursday 21 May. I confirmed the appointment earlier this week with a representative on the phone. The address is part of an HOA community that covers internet services.
I get an automated call today that said "your technician is running late, press 1 to reschedule if that can't be accomodated" The machine repeated this statement, and I pressed nothing because I am fine with someone coming later than scheduled, TODAY.
I then called an hour or so later after the original appointment window closed to confirm someone was coming out today, and the representative said the appointment had been rescheduled to Sunday, 24 May!
I rely on internet service for work (I work from home) and require stable, reliable service to complete my work. I told them this and that this was unacceptable, and I needed Xfinity to honor the original appointment (at least the day).
They said the soonest someone could come out was 24 May, and that they would offer "5G service" until the technician could come out.
I can't believe this!
