5 months of a completely blocked left nostril after the flu, surgery consult in a month, at my limit
Story: I ( 36m ) caught the flu 5 months ago, left nostril has been continuously clogged since and never really recovered. Diagnosed with a nasal polyp. Surgery got moved up but I still have a month until even the pre-op consultation, let alone the operation prob. 3 months later. ( Germany lol ) CT Shows also a polyp in left cavities.
I know steroid sprays and rinses are the standard answer and I'm already doing those. What I'm really asking is: what actually got you through the waiting period before surgery? Anything that made a real difference to daily life, or anything you wish you'd known sooner?
I got a private recipe for Budesonid for nasal shower as an additive, from a befriended doctor.
But two ENTs said that would not help.. while I read some posts here that it helped ?
Edit: I wake up every morning from the foulest taste in my mouth from nasal drippings...
Quality of life is genuinely down about 50% right now. Would appreciate hearing what worked for people who've been through this.
Much love and thank you for any suggestions and support.
