Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 stopped turning on after battery drain
Hi. I've had Galaxy Tab S4 for a while and was very happy with it, as it served its purposes. Even after a few years, its battery would hold for a while I was watching videos, too, and I only noticed that somewhere around 30% it would start draining rapidly, but I rarely got to this point.
Recently, however, I was on a trip, and at some point turned it off, as the battery dropped to 55% charge after a few hours of just sitting in my bag. I can only assume it drained further in that state.
I got it out of the bag after a few days and it refuses to turn on now. The screen is completely black, no charging indications, no nothing. What I tried:
- Checked the USB (it does charge my phone; not faulty)
- Connected my tablet to a PC (no charging + no device recognition; my phone got recognized with the same USB)
- Held the power button for a minute, tried the soft reset with volume button, tried unplugging/replugging the charger. Cleaned the port, too
What I have not tried yet:
- Slow charging (idk how to do that without the charging dock that is off amazon now)
- Disassembling the tablet to unplug the battery from motherboard for a bit (??)
- Charging for over 24 hours (not enough time has passed)
So, I wanted to ask if there are any other solutions I might be missing & what could possibly be the reason for this behavior? Surely battery draining to 0% didn't kill the motherboard, right?
