Scam alert! Beware before buying anything from u/OkChain2088( please upvote so that it could reach more people)‼️‼️
So, on 26th April, I inquired with u/OkChain2088 about buying 2 pcs of Olaplex No. 3. I got a little busy afterwards, so later I asked her about the expiry dates and other details. She had been replying late from the beginning, so I didn’t think much of it.
Later, I paid and confirmed my order on 4th May. On 5th May, I texted her asking whether it had been shipped or not, and she said “tomorrow.” From that point, she started ghosting me.
I called the phone number I got from the QR code, but she wasn’t picking up my calls. Then I texted her on WhatsApp. After that, I got a reply on Reddit saying my parcel had been shipped and that she was unwell, so she forgot to collect the shipping slip. I asked her to cancel the order if it hadn’t been shipped yet, but she kept lying.
Again, ghosting phase SHURUUUUUU.
She finally replied on 12th May on WhatsApp, sent me another phone number, and told me to contact that number because the previous one was “only for payment purposes.” Then I called and texted on the new number and NOWWWW, THE GIRL ON THAT NUMBER TURNED OUT TO BE ANOTHER BUYER who had recently purchased Olaplex products from her and had already received her parcel.
At that point, I got really confused and realised I might have been scammed. I started calling and texting OkChain repeatedly, but there was no response from her side. She again replied on Reddit saying she had been hospitalised and would either refund me or update me the next day.
I ASKED HER TO CLARIFY THE WHOLE WHATSAPP SITUATION, but she just said, “Don’t worry, you’re not being scammed.”
On 13th May, she said the parcel was undeliverable and was being returned back to her. I asked for a refund, but she said she could ship it again the next day. I specifically asked her NOT to ship through DTDC or India Post because the service isn’t good in my area.
AGAIN GHOSTING PHASE.
Finally, on 17th May, she sent me tracking details and guess what? She shipped it via DTDC despite me clearly asking her not to. Now today, I got a text message from DTDC saying the parcel has been delivered, but I haven’t received anything.
Note: I honestly never thought I’d make a post about all this, but I recently saw another post describing a very similar experience with her, so I decided to share mine too. At this point, I genuinely don’t know whether I’ll receive my parcel, get my money back, or even if the product is authentic. But this has honestly been my worst Reddit buying experience ever.
