I visited the Waltons Mountain Museum!

My first post on this subreddit :)

I live not too far from Schuyler so today my mom and I decided to visit the Walton’s Mountain Museum! It was super interesting and a really fun place to look around. I learned a lot about the show and the real Hamner family.

Something I didn’t know was that there was actually 8 Hamner siblings, and they combined two of the brothers into Ben’s character. Apparently the real life mother wasn’t too happy about that haha! But overall it seemed like the whole family had a lot of love for the show and its portrayal of the town and the family. All the people at the museum were super nice and loved the Waltons.

I’d say the museum is definitely worth a visit if you’re passing through Virginia and are a fan of the show. There’s tons of old memorabilia and lots of info on the stories behind it!

I’ll attach a few photos for anyone interested. :)

Does EON next charge you if you miss your appointment?

Hello! Just wondering if anyone knows, does EON charge if you have an appointment and you aren’t home for the time?
Basically I’ve got a metre appointment tomorrow and I’m out of the country but my flatmate also won’t be home and forgot to reschedule, will we get charged for not being there? I can’t find any answers online but I figure we probably will.
(We’ve both messaged trying to reschedule but obviously it’s a Sunday and our appointment is tomorrow 8am-12pm so I doubt they’ll reply in time.)

Is it worth trying to get a skilled workers visa?

Hi everyone! Just looking for a bit of advice regarding moving from the graduate visa to a skilled workers visa.

I've been in the UK for almost 6 years: first on a Tier 4 student visa, currently on a graduate visa. I did both my undergrad and postgrad studies here, and now I'm living and working nearby where I went to uni (northeast).

My graduate visa runs out in December of this year, and I've been trying for MONTHS to find a job that will sponsor me to stay. I love England, I've spent basically my entire adult life here (18-24), and most of my friends are here. However, it's seeming less and less likely that I'll find a job to sponsor my visa, especially in my field.

I guess my question is, at this point, is it worth continuing to try and find a way to stay over here, or should I just accept that I'm moving back to America? I know the job market is terrible right now, especially for young people, and I'm just not feeling hopeful.

I'm devastated to think of leaving my life here behind, and while being nearer my family in America would be nice, I'm just so happy with my life here at the moment. I just don't think I have a choice.

Does anyone have any advice? Either for processing the fact that I'm gonna have to leave, or for finding a miraculous job that will let me stay? Anything would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for reading and taking the time to help. ◡̈
