Would you still be into RC cars if you had nobody to run them with?
Most of the time, my rigs end up sitting on the shelf because there’s nobody around to run with. What are some ways you guys keep things fun and exciting when bashing alone?

I got into the RC hobby about a year ago, so I still consider myself pretty new to it. Since then, I’ve picked up a few different RCs, including some 1/7 and 1/8 scale models from Arrma, along with RCs from MJX, Rlaarlo, and WLToys but surprisingly, most of them have never even been driven yet.
A big part of the hobby for me is the tinkering side of things. I genuinely enjoy working on them, learning setups, and even just looking over my collection on the shelf. For now, I’ve been more focused on understanding tuning and upgrades than actually running every RC I own. I’m sure once I feel fully ready, I’ll finally take them out and give them a proper run.
That mindset is actually what made my very first RC, a DEERC become my favorite everyday basher. Over time I upgraded the motor, ESC, servo, shocks, tires, and even the body. Even though I own “better” RCs now, that little DEERC somehow still gives me the most fun.
I don’t know if it’s perfectionism, collector mentality, or just loving the building/tuning side of the hobby more than driving itself, but for now I’m enjoying the process. I’m sure eventually I’ll feel ready to properly run the others too.
