The Rainbow Sharing Project

I think bourbon is best when it is shared.

So I figured I would share my bourbon share project with those that might find it interesting.

This is my Rainbow Project.

To start, it took some time but after a couple years of trying, I was finally able to complete the Weller Rainbow* (Description at the bottom for those that dont know the term).

While I love seeing all 6 bottles lined up and pretty on my shelf, I knew there was only one thing to do: Share the bourbon with friends!

However, I wanted to do something special for the set. I wanted to be able to give the Rainbow to friends and bourbon lovers. I didnt want to just randomly share at a get together, or in little sharpie marked bottles. I wanted to share the full experience.

So, I set to work! I found an Etsy shop that makes custom miniture vinyl labels that matched the full sized bottles. Ordered a bunch of my favorite sample bottles (Liquid Ministry, is IMO the best) and some color matched wax (or as close as I could find) to seal them closed. Then I got to work finding a nice box. Before long I had found a few wooden boxes from known bourbon streamers that could hold 1oz bottles, but I wanted something more still. Then I found it, a company that let me make fully custom designed display boxes. Now I could hold the full 2oz bottles as well.

A few weeks later, and all the materials were here.

This is the result of a surprisingly lot of time to give my friends and bourbon buddies a fun Rainbow experience of their own!

The wooden boxes hold 1oz Boston round bottles and a single Wee Glencairn.

The display shipper box holds the 2oz Liquid Ministry bottles and 2 Wee Glencairns for even more sharing! It also includes the proof as well as tasting notes from the distillery for each of the bottles printed on the inside.

I was able to make Nine (9) 2oz sets, and Four (4) 1oz sets with just enough left over for me to enjoy a pour or two from each bottle myself!

So far those I have given them to have loved them! (Hopefully the trend continues)

I would love to see more projects aimed at sharing bourbon, instead of having it just sit on a shelf. And if those projects have a bit of fun to them all the better!

I hope you all enjoy seeing my Rainbow box sets, and hopefully are not to brutal on your reviews of my choices of layout, lol.
