Aug. 12 brings multiple celestial events on the same day

You won't see the entire eclipse in Chicago and you'll need binoculars to see Uranus.

SOFTTOPP by RAGGTOPP

The Sofftopp product is apparently the same as the Raggtopp product as far as I could tell, but it's marketed towards Jeeps and Broncos. It was less expensive so I bought that kit and used it today.

"Madyar" Addresses the Residents of Crimea

"Madyar" Addresses the Residents of Crimea

"Once again, I apologize to all the residents of Crimea, to the Ukrainians, for the inconveniences they are currently facing," stated the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Unmanned Systems, in an interview with Irish journalist Caoelan Robertson.

Other statements by Robert Brovdi:

* "For now, we are not targeting the Crimean Bridge so that those who wish can leave. Let them 'get the hell out' through it to their Russia."

* "We have destroyed 21 tankers in 3 days, and we will destroy another 121, and 221, and as many as there are; we will destroy them all."

* "Ukrainians in Crimea need to be patient while we 'remove the parasites from the peninsula'."

* "Russians are 'given a beating' every 50-100 years, but this is the first war in their lives where Ukrainians are fighting against them. They're getting screwed."

NFC tag reveals interesting discovery

I decided to record my maintenance information on an NFC sticker. It includes info like dates and mileage at last oil change, cabin and engine filter change, new battery installation, etc.

I can write and read this data with my phone. It's nothing new and I'm sure many of you do it too.

The interesting part is where I chose to put the sticker because they won't work if stuck on some surfaces, like metal for example. So I stuck mine on plastic right above the coolant window.

The interesting part? I usually have difficulty seeing the level using the window, maybe it's the fluid color or just my eyes.

But when I took a picture to post in the subreddit, in my poorly lit garage using the camera flash, the level is very easy to see in the picture. Not sure why I didn't think of it sooner, lol.
